| Just figured I would throw this out here This should piss you guys off. Its from the wrestlingobserver RAW review, and it made me think about the people on this board. ENJOY!! Chris Jericho came in, and was upset that Bischoff made Christian the number one contender for the WWE champion. I would be too, given Christian’s record. Christian on WWE television this year sports a record of 3-15. Seriously. 3-15. And now he is challenging for Cena’s title. I’m all for giving new stars a chance. But if you want your new main eventers to succeed, it goes without saying you need to protect them. Losing over 80 percent of your matches does not qualify as protection. | |||||||||||||||

| I agree...if they wanted to push Christian and make him a credible main-eventer, perhaps he should have picked up a few big wins here or there Its just another example of WWE writers not picking up on the "little things" when they plan their angles | |||||||||||||||

| Ya, they should have built him up some before tossing him in for a title shot just because he wanted one. | ||||||||||||||

| GGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrr!!! This subject makes me mad. It`s simple if you want main-eventers and belt holders to have near 100% records the only way to do that is have them face enhancement talent (i mean the un-named ET rather than Val) week in week out whilst there opponent rants on in a picture in picture interview. I dont want to go back to the early eighties and I cant believe any right thinking fan would. Christian is over, that why he gets a shot. Who the hell cares if he`s 3-15 he`s in the main event picture because we, the fans, put him there. | ||||||||||||||

| Ya, I guess you have a point. I don't think Batista had this huge winning streak before he became champ. Not to mention Benoit would lose a lot as well. | ||||||||||||||

| Made me chuckle when he had that TV feud with Flair. Flair beat Tomko one week which set up the tv pay off between Flair and Christian....and Flair won again. A guy that'll be 60 before the end of the decade pinned him. The push for Christian has been so ass backwards it's unbelievable he's retained his popularity with the audience. Guess the viewing public don't really care with some guys if they win or lose (e.g The Rock) but Christian is even close to that level yet. It's to his credit that his charisma and in-ring ability has got him this far without any kind of winning record, having said that I don't think many people seriously believe him to be a threat to Cena's title so I don't know if that ultimately leads to people buying the PPV's. | |||||||||||||||

| Although I partially agree with Kajayshh that we dont need ppl to have amazing winning streaks w/ squashes on jobbers like the 80s, I do believe a legitimate contender needs to have a strong track record leading up to a match. That being said, how many of those loses came in tag matches where Tomko was pinned. I bet at least 5 of them were. That being said, Christian deserves the title shot because he has the fan support. He is geeting pops everywhere he goes right now. In addition, I think we all need to look at this realistically. Even though Christian is getting this shot (which is now a triple threat match) he is not going to win it. This will just build towards a long-term fued. I am willing to bet that after Vengence Christian will be drafted to Smackdown! and Cena will head back with the title via trade. Remember, Vince said the GMs could trade! Smackdown! will get the WWE championship back and give up someone like Booker T and future considerations (lol). | ||||||||||||||

| First of all before Benoit won the title and then even afterwards he had a streak of like 8 or 9 PPVs where he didn't lose at any of them. Just thought I'd throw that out there. Now, with Christian his 3-15 record on tv does seem a bit strange with him challenging for a title, but I think the most important thing is that despite WWE's poor booking of him he's still managed to get over by putting on great promos week after week. The bottom line is that he's over now and he's moving up in the company (hopefully). People will forget quickly about his record up to this point. Hey, JBL was jobbing to Scotty on Velocity right before he got a title shot, and then they actually gave him the gold. Anything is possible. | |||||||||||||||
