When this whole draft stuff is over.

I think Trips is going to SD with the Heavyweight belt personally.

Think about it.

I was just talking about this in another thread and I personally think Dave is going to SD! with the belt, but I'd love to hear why some of you think Trips is going..

You see, I don't think Trips has THAT much power behind the scenes, but I think he could nix a move to SD! if he wanted to, a show where nobody wants to go at this point with all the uncertainty surrounding it.

I actually just posted this in the thread on the News board. I think so too, I think the Dave Batista experiment is over for now and Trips is taking his belt back. Not that I think Batista shouldn't remain champ (he should, until at least Survivor Series imo) or that Trips should once again have the belt...I just think its really obvious its going to happen.

Also, Blitz...I don't know if its a matter of HHH having power (and I think he does wield quite a bit), but I think he's managed to conVince (geddit?) the people who make the decisions that having the title always revolve around him is a good thing.

That's fine, but a move to SD! where the show could be moved to Fridays and even interupted by baseball games doesn't sound like a place where a guy with "power" would want to be...but you could be right.

Why do you think it's obvious Trips is beating Dave?

Why? Well, first of all I don't see anyone beating Trips for the belt 3 PPVs in a row. I also have the feeling...and I have no proof, its just a feeling mind you...that management is convinced they have us all lulled into a false sense of security regarding Batista beating Trips once again, and they just might be thinking that Trips winning the belt again would be a great "swerve". Meh.

I hope the front office isn't that dumb..

I don't know, When Benoit won the title last year he beat Trips in 3 straight matches although one of them was on a RAW, and then Orton was the one who won the title off of him. Will Dave beat Trips fairly? (and by fairly I mean without something crazy happening) I don't think so.

I think it will be a situation where Trips loses, but has an excuse as to why he lost the match, thus protecting his status as a main player and not making him look as much like "Batista's Bitch", if you will. Then Dave moves on, Trips says Dave is scared of him to build up his ego, and Trips moves on to somebody else. At least I hope that would be the scenerio rather than him just out right beating Dave...to me, that wouldn't make much sense seeing how Dave just got the belt and the crowd still likes him.

First off, WWE is not going to let Smackdown! fall apart and die. Sure moving to Fridays isn't good for them, but their plan should be to make the show really good and bring in good numbers, then they can move to another nextwork and return to Thursdays next year.

I think Batista is going to win and he's either going to be drafted or traded to Smackdown the following week. Triple H then will move into a feud with Cena and beat him for the WWE Title at SummerSlam, thus putting the squash on another push.

I hope you're right. See, another reason why I think this...if Trips were actually "passing the torch" as it were, even if it was one of his hand-picked proteges like Batista...I don't think Batista is a "pass the torch to" kind of guy. He's too old, for one. I don't think he's quite talented enough to center your long-term plans around either. I do like him, and I do respect the work he's obviously put into getting where he is. I just don't think he's "it".

I agree with DJ..they should still try to make SD! watchable.

As far as Batista goes with having the "it" factor, forget it. I think we can all agree on that. That's why I'm not going to be up in arms if Dave does lose the title, although I think he should still keep it for a while.

On a side note, I think DJ can even agree that John Cena needs improvement on his in-ring ability before he can truly become "The Man" in the company.
