Is the stage set for an ECW return?

With all the big names moving to Raw it seems(atleast to me) that the next logical step would be at some point in the draft for Teddy Long tobe drafted, thus setting up the need for a new GM, enter Paul E. as the new man in charge and ECW vs WCW can take place on WWE television.

Ok maybe that WCW part it a little to far but what does everyone think Paul becoming the SD GM and taking the show to the EXTREME(I just like saying that. ) good idea, or bad?

no... I wish... but probably not... it's too big of a stretch... all the numbers from the PPV aren't in yet. McMahon will base his ECW decision on money.. it's too early to tell yet.

If the numbers are anywhere close to 800,000 PPV buys like Sabac posted in the early estimates...they would most def do something with ECW in the future.

Turning SD! into ECW would probably never happen but it'd be cool...You're more likely to see the ECW invasion continue on SD! leading up to ECW style of matches to take place of the star power SD! has lost in the draft.

Either way, I really hope they do something...

Smackdown already has the Dudleyz, RVD, Benoit, Eddie, Nunzio, Rey. If they get Tajiri in the draft, I'll be almost certain that they're going to reform ECW.

Interesting idea. I really like it. I reckon they should do a very slow takeover. But Teddy Long to Raw would make things quite interesting.

Either way, Heyman NEEDS to be back on WWE television. Great manager for Lesnar, great as a commentator.. he could do a number of things.

Looks like the big players are going to RAW, so that would probably mean that the mid-card guys w/no program but with crowd drawing ability are going to SD!

If ECW is reformed on Smackdown! I will stop watching wrestling and posting here. The company is dead... all of you ECW fans will be bored of it in a matter of months. ECW was what it was b/c they performed to small crowds in hardcore matches. The WWE version of ECW will not be as intense or extreme b/c no TV station can play that kind of violence. On top of that, they wont be able to sell-out arenas on a consistent basis and house-shows, well, if they run them the way the WWE does then everyone on the "ECW/Smackdown!" roster will be injured within a few months.

ECW is dead. It is only an angle and thats it. So, sorry to break all of your hearts, but its simply not going to happen.

I can see an ECW invasion on Smackdown with a large ECW stable as part of the brand. Turning Smackdown into a total ECW show won't happen IMO.
