ECW One Night Stand PPV Discussion

Great review Mister D! Only thing that pissed me off with the show was when the blonde ref (what I think was the WWE ref) would count for rope breaks or start counting for a count out or when both guys were down. What the hell was that? He was the only guy doing it and I was like, does he have any clue what PPV he is at and what ECW rules are? I just don't get how someone can be so stupid.

Well if the ressurection of ECW does not happen after last night's show i will will be shocked. Sorry to tell WWE, but once again a show consisting mainly of non WWE talent blew the doors off any WWe PPV so far this year. I had fun last night which is something that WWE has not done for me in years. Thank you Paul Heyman, RVD, Tommy Dreamer, Sandman, and all the others. And the whole thing with Brdshaw stiffing Blue Meanie and busting him just goes to show that WWE performers had no business being there. Bradshaw is a selfish prick and if he thinks he needs to try to ruin some guys night because the whole show was better than his lame ass matches he can go to hell. I think it would be wise to find some way to give these guys a tour of their own or their own show or something. I was seriously overwhelmed last night because ECW was such a big part of my life for so many years. Bravo!!!!! guys, here's hopin for a bright future.

Joey Styles is sooooo much better than Cole! Kick Cole to the curb and put Styles and Taz on the stick on SD! All ECW commentary might spice up SD! a little bit.

Super Crazy's suit said "Hecho en Mexico"... (Made in Mexico for our non-Spanish speaking friends).. that gave me the giggles.

Eddie and Beniot was weak cuz it was WWE style match among ECW style matches. However it still wasn't the winner of the "sucky-match-o-da-night" award.. that goes to Rey and Psychosis.... why the frick did the take off his mask!?!?!?! And an official, certified Mexican I msut say that I've never seen a luchador take off HIS OWN mask for no good reason and it seemed really dishonorable... AND he was really rusty. Not the mention the Boo's the 619 was getting fromt he crowd. HOWEVER... the match picked toards the end and eventho this was the worst of the PPV, it was still better than most of the stuff we see on the lowcard of SD! and RAW nowadays.

Our quote of the night "Oh man, I'm tired, I can't watch this no more!" Seriously, I haven't been that spent from watching the first 3/4 of a PPV in a LONG time... then the main event happened and my voice was already out and I was soo tired that all I could do was just lay there in pool of my own sweat in a blissful coma of wrestling extacy while staring at the screen in awe.

Incredible PPV...

For the first time in a long time I was impressed with a PPV. I was looking forward to this for a while being an ECW fan who spent her Friday nights religiously watching it on TNN and managed to attend the only show they ever had in Canada, and it didn't disappoint one bit. From beginning to end it was all old school ECW from the announcing, to the blood, gore, and violence. The highlight for me like everyone else was the two shoot promos from Heyman and RVD. I was literally on the floor pissing myself, thinking someone is getting fired, but RVD and Heyman had the guts to say exactly what was on their and the fans minds, kudos to them both for having the balls to do so. I loved these two lines from Paul, "Edge, I've just got 2 words for you.. Matt Freaking Hardy" and "The reason you've been champ for a year JBL is b/c Triple H doesn't like to work on Tuesdays!" Matchwise, to quote Joey Styles, "Oh my god!" the reunion of the Impact Players, the return of Sabu, Awesome/Tanaka, Dreamer/Sandman/Dudleys, those were definitely worth the price of admission, even if you knew the feuds or didn't you still enjoyed the match as all the workers put their hearts into it. My only disappointments were the 3-way dance and Rey/Psicosis - I thought there would be a lot more "lucha" flying style holy s**** chants, as most matches seemed to be grounded. However, I have to give the MVP award to the in-house crowd. They let everyone there know exactly how they felt regardless of who you were, their chants were very entertaining and it's nice to see Foley/Styles roll with them. I gave this one 4 1/2 chairshots out of 5 and am definitely getting this PPV on DVD.

I fuckin' loved this PPV.. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought this was way better than any other wrestling PPV I seen in a long ass time.
