Wrestling Union

I was just thinking about Jesse Ventura's attempt to form a labor union for wrestlers back in the 1980s.Do you think that wresters(WWE/TNA & indys) should try to organize a union?

Yes they should have one.

No it'll never happen.

But what if someone major like Triple H tried to do it?
Right now wrestlers don't really have much job security unless they become close friend with the McMahons. Look at Test for example, he got fired while he was still injured, something that wouldn't help at a normal job.

LOL. Might have known a Bret Hart fan would be in favour!!

They really should have a union, but of course (a) no one at the top of the card e.g a HHH is going to be remotely interested and (b) if a mid carder pushes for one, he'll just find himself supsiciously lowered down the card and then released when his contract is up!!!

It's sad WWE has started sacking guys that are recovering from injuries as they did with Test, it's a very classless thing to do, and something that WWE always used to use as an example as to why they were a better organisation than WCW when they were around. They would tend to pay guys until they were recovered, particularly since mostly they got injured working for them.

Like others have said, it will never happen. There's way too many wrestlers wanting to get in WWE. If one guy (or 10) want a union, they will be out on their ass and another guy will be more than willing to take their spot.

I guess it would take something like every single person on the active roster supporting it. I can understand 10, but if if 30 or 40 wrestlers demanded it WWE would be in a tough position since you can't fire 90% of your roster.

No. But you can fire the losers to send a message to the other guys. Bust their ass down to jobber duty would also get the message.

While this is true, I'm sure people said the same thing when baseball players, football players, and other athletes wanted to form union back in the 70's.
