Rep Power: 7 ![]() | When wrestlers Die This is an offshoot of the Candido thing in the TNA folder. Yes its tragic when a wrestler dies, its often way before time. What irks me is the way people are when it happens. Like Big Boss Man.. I rmember people complaining how he was useless in a recent stint and how he wasnt deserving of TV time.. yet when he died he was some great guy and an asset to wrestling. People say how Elizabeth was a classy woman when they heard the news of her death.. but prior to that they were calling her a slut and a sellout just because she has implants to salvage her career in WCW. People moaned about Crash Holly and were pegging him for release in spring cleanups because he wasnt what wrestling was about due to the demise of Hardcore in the WWF.. yet when he died he was suddenly destined for greatness and should have gone on to better things. I guess the point of this thread is that people tend to go a bit overboard and unneccesarily sentimental when a wrestler dies... when was the last time someone discussed Candido on this board anyway? |

Rep Power: 19 ![]() | I think it's because it's sort of disrespectfull to say bad things about people have recently died. I don't change my mind when someone dies, if I felt a certain way about a wrestler i'll still feel that way after they die. So if I think someone doesn't deserve to be on tv i'll still feel that way if they die, but i'll still mourn them becuase it's always sad when a wrestler dies. |

Kind of like when you get back with an ex than a few weeks down the road you realize why you broke up in the first place...

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | I think people say good things because when someone dies we all realise that whether they were a good worker or had charisma is really irrelevant in the broad scheme of things. Chris Candido was a man with a family and friends and was so much more than anyone on this board or myself will ever know. Same for all the other names mentioned. I mean how would you feel if say for example a member of ur family died and then their friends or boss calls you to let you know how lousy they were at work? Kinda pointless now hey?

Rep Power: 10 ![]() | I think that the most tragic of all passings was Owen Hart's and that the company did not go overboard in paying tribute to him. Thought that it was very fitting for a man who was a great wrestler and human being. I actually still have a copy of the RAW tribute show they had done for him.

I honestly can't believe to this day that Owen is gone, but I think realhiphop got it right. Who cares if they had a poor workrate or they aren't the most charismatic person in the world. The sad fact is that someone has been taken from the earth before their time, leaving us with the good memories that they have forged.

Rep Power: 24 ![]() ![]() | Did TNA do anything to show tribute to him other than what I sawe on last fridays show? I relize they tape several shows in advance so I am curious to see if they put together something for him. If I recall, they tape 2 shows at once so you wouldn't even see them mentioning it on the show. |

Rep Power: 112 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I can only think of Owen, Rude, Smith, Hennig and Pillman as the guys that I was genuinely devastated to miss from a wrestling point of view. The others were performers on a tv show and at live events that I attended who, whilst I didn't appreciate their art(!), others did and they were part of something and contributed to something I love to watch. I don't think it's two faced to then say it's sad that they've died early or that I feel sorry for their loved ones. It's true that I had a laugh about Candido's Flair-like recent physical appearance but does that mean I'm being two faced for saying I'm sorry to hear he's dead?? Political correctness gone too far.
