I really don't think he did anything huge or marketable. I feel that his matches with Foley will be remembered for Foley's bumping. DX for HBK. His numerous matches with the Rock seem to only memorable to those who watched 2000. To me, he won't have a legacy as close to Flair's, or the boom like Austin and Hogan. No matter how many times he wins that belt, I will always compare him to the USWA and Jerry Lawler as the champ, because he was major player (owner) of the bus. and that is why he got all the title's. I see HHH as just another black hole in the wrestling bus. Yes he was good, but ne never was truely that amazing or great.

A champion that's been a champ as long as he has would hope to have been involved in many great feuds and matches. I do however, feel absolutely certain, that many on here will disagree!!!

I think he certainly will be remembered as one of the greats, but more like a second-tier legend, like HBK, Bret Hart, Sting, Foley, etc. Although I do think him getting half an hour of face time EVERY show, and dominating the storylines even when hes not champion, will tarnish his legacy a little. Since we all know (or at least have a somewhat decent idea) of what goes on behind the scenes, people know that his 10 World championships arent exactly "clean". Flair, on the other hand, booked himself to be champ a bunch of times (I read in Foley's first book that Flair was a booker for WCW), but backtage stuff wasnt as well known at the time, so tyhere isnt the same distaste for Flair as there is for HHH

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | I think HHH legacy will be a guy who only looked out for himself and not for the business. Overall, you can't take one single match that he made famous, but rather the people that surrounded him that helped make him. HHH was kinda stuck in the middle of the pack of the Big Dawgs "Austin, Rock, Foley" he never really seperated himself but just sat there, only after those three left did he really start to re-establish himself. Love him or hate him, I will give him credit for his workrat, which is almost unparallel to most guys. He will also be remembered for beating the record books. |

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | But I suppose Christian will right? Yes I know half the poeple on this board hate HHH, but here's the facts. He will go down as one of the greats cause whether you like it or not he was a big part of the 1998-99 boom period. He was also the MVP of the wrestling business as a whole in 2000. He has dictated what a heel should be for the last 5 or 6 years now. And if you look he is emulated in other wrestlers. He is an excellent wrestler you cannot take that away from him. He has had several 5 star matches in just the last 2 years. Please give him his credit. Besisdes no matter how much you think he sucks or he doesn't deserve his accolades, remember this. He will control the WWE for the next decade at least. If not as a wrestler, then as a booker or a writer or an actual member of the board of directors. When you are in charge its pretty easy to get people to say how great you were, and I can bet people in the WWE will be saying it as long as HHH is alive.

There is nothing the man can't do though...you pick something, I bet Triple H is at least good if not great at it. There aren't many people in the history of wrestling who can say they could do it all in the ring and outside of the ring..He should get his respect from you people just based on that alone.

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Triple H does deserve credit for picking up the ball and running with it, along with the Rock, when Austin went down in late 1999. Those two carried WWE in 2000 (although the emergence of Kurt Angle and arrival of Chris Benoit helped) and business was good. Since Triple H has returned from his quad injury, things haven't been the same. It's no secret how much "pull" he has in the back, and that has led to a lot of bad decisions being made. Y2J points this out well in his post on the World Championship facts, since the belt returned in Sept. 2002, Triple H has had the title 61% of the time. That's too much. His act for the most part is stale and predictable. I think Triple H deserves to be mentioned as one of the top stars from the "Attitude" era, but he won't go down as one of the all-time greats, even if he thinks winning the belt 10+ times will give that rite to him. |

Rep Power: 24 ![]() ![]() | I would love to see a change and him have something else to be pissed at other than not having or wanting the belt. I wonder how he would handle a face turn. I mean it would take a lot of work to convince people at this stage to like HHH again. |
