Is Batista falling in the trap?

I'm not hating on Batista, i thinks hes a fantastic wrestler and a stand up guy. But do you think that Batista with his lack of mic skills (even tho they are improving) could fall into the same trap as other first time champions like Sting and Goldberg. Granted, Sting is good on the mic now, but i thought his first reign as NWA champion was a little lackluster. Everyone liked him pursuing Ric Flair for it, but i've heard and read once Sting had the belt, people didn't like him as much as champion as he did when he was a champion. Goldberg as well, everyone liked him pursuing the title with his undefeated streak, but once he had the title, he was popular yes, but he didn't have that huge pop as champion. Could Batista fall into that trap of once he has the title, he won't be the same Animal pursuing Triple H? What do y'all think?

Well, it just happens to some people, and not necessarily to others. I mean, Austin's quest for the title was great, but his title reign continued to be strong. If they can find creative storylines and good challengers for Batista, then he'll be ok.

I think a good thing to do would be to put him in a face vs. face feud with someone like HBK. But it wouldnt be a feud based on hostility or anything like that. They could have a hard fought match with Batista squeaking out a win at the end. Then they can shake hands at the end or something. Something like this would be good for a couple of reasons:

1. It goes beyond the typical face vs. heel booking
2. HHH will hopefully not be involved
3. HBK is a master in the ring and will make Batista look like a million bucks
4. HBK is so over that fans are sure to be interested.
5. It would give Batista a nice "rub" to defeat a legend like HBK

Batista isnt necessarily doomed to fail now that he's become champ. I think he's got more personality than Goldberg ever showed, and that could help him go a long way

Some guys just don't "sound" write when cutting face promos. Maybe it's just a lot more difficult being a good face character in this period than it is being a heel. I don't think he should be cutting those sort of promos that he was doing on Monday though, i.e lengthy, jokey and crap!!!

I don't understand why WWE or net fans are so quick to jump on a guy because he may have lesser mic skills when first starting to do promos. Trish,Edge, and Christian were horrible when they first started out. Now it seems like WWE and net fans hear the first 10 words out of someone and are like, wow he sucks on the mic he shouldn't be champ or he doesn't have what it takes.

WHat is wrong with giving someone a chance and time to develop their skills better in front of a huge crowd?

Yeah, you're bound to feel like that. I mean, you've had nearly 10,000 posts on here and you're still posting complete jibberish. You just need more time to work on your character!!

Not on this thread but elsewhere Ida. Nevermind. I'll just ignore your posts in future and learn that my comments are unapreciated by some.

Back on track, I thought they were going the right way with Big Dave when they had him cut a short agressive promo the other week, he comes off well in that role and also as the quiet assasin type!! However, his character (at this stage) should avoid lengthy comedy style segments, especially when Raw's writers are in such a poor vein of comedy form at present (much like myself :erm2: )

I think it's too early to say anything about Batista's title run.

He needs to work on mic skills truly, but I for one enjoy his segments and find him one of the more entertaining personalities on Raw.

I think he will fare a lot better than Orton did with the belt.
