Gimmicks that dont get over

I remember at the time thinking when I heard that "It took you long enough Marvel!"

They should have at least tried to change up a few other things if they were going to copy the character so openly.

the 'big fat man' gimmick. If you have a big guy, you don't have to give him a gimmick, because apparenty being fat is a gimmick on it's own. Viscera for example. He is a big fat man who wears make-up.

I don't have a problem with gimmicks being done over again and I really really don't understand why a lot of people do. They act like there is so much to choose from or lots not done. How long as wrestling been around? How many different gimmicks have we seen over the years?

Ric Flair's gimmick wasn't his idea yanno. It was done before him but no one bitched and complained when he did it. But if someone else were to do something similar to his, people would complain.

I don't have a problem with Masters gimmick at all and I don't understand what the big deal is or why people don't seem to like it. Wasn't the Rock full of himself? People loved him. Isn't HHH full of himself? Flair? I could go on and on.

For gimmicks that I would say have not worked are the studdering one. I am not saying that it couldn't be done right but, it hasn't so far.

The Blue Chipper i. e. The Rock (Rocky Maivia), A-Train (face before I-C title win), Orton (Babyface turning heel), Maven (I think) and whoever else. If your labeled a Bule Chipper, the fans will boo you.

I think the gimmick that doesnt get over the most is basically the Randy Orton "syndrome". ****y heel, loads of attitude, getting the right pops, turns face, does right by everyone, kills believability, turds in bag (optional), loses crowd reaction, trys to regain old gimmick, hurts shoulder (optional). Basically the old fashioned face doesnt work and no-one can copy SCSA or Rockys ****y face because they were special. We need a saviour please step forward mohammad hassan.

The gimmick Masters has should be the least of his worries...He's been booked worse than any newcomer that I've seen in a long time. WWE booked Snitsky when he arrived a thousand times better.

Yes I agree, but not much he can do other then roll with it.

The problem with Master's gimmick is that the fact that he's well built is hardly unique in the WWE these days.

Well it DID get Godfather over so it did work, but "black guy working as a pimp or acting like a pimp" is another popular one. Slick and Flash Funk are the others that come to mind.
