Heat sucks, and it has since Raven left. It is watched by very few people outside of die-hard fans. I would say velocity has the same problem, but quite often on it you can see a nice cruiserweight match. So why not scrap the current heat, and broadcast some OVW, I know it sounds rediculous, but acknowledge that this is the WWE farm team, and allow fans t osee guys build and improve. Then when they are called up there is already built in hype for their "big league" appearance.

I think that is a good example of why this would be beneficial. The people they would call up would most likely be the ones with the most fan reaction, not just whoever is the biggest

I don't think it would be ridiculous at all. In fact, if I still had cable, I just might watch the OVW show more than either RAW or Smackdown - just to see some new faces on my TV more than anyother reason. And, I think a recurring theme on that show could be instead of feuding for a belt, people are feuding for a chance to make it to the big shows.

I think the WWE want to keep OVW off television because they are "tinkering and playing" with the characters at this stage. If OVW was on tv then it would have been harder for them to have moved Batista away from his Leviathan character and Cena away from being The Prototype. Not necessarily a bad thing in either mans case!! however they have their reasons for not wanting to expose these guys.

This would have so many possiblilites. Like Zar said, you will basically have crowd favorites right off the bat. Make it well known that these guys are training and address it as a minor league.

Guys could go at it for contracts (even though Vince knows who is coming up) and establish rivalries and stables in the WWE down the line. Good stuff. Minor Leaguers could get major rubs from the rare appearance of a Kane chokeslam etc etc.

This should all be done on a low budget type appeal. Make it somewhat bland, but just set and angle wise. Have these guys develop their wrestling skills so that the WWE can harness their postives that they and the fans see.

holy shit a featured thread. I just feel this would almost ensure quality talent being brought up to the WWE, or help at least. A maineventer in OVW would be accepted at least as a killer mid-carder if he was a fan favourite. If it's kept at an hour a week, these guys will become even more hungry for exposure, which they would get through hard work.
