Does it feel like Wrestlemania Week?

I dont feel as strong as this Wrestlemania as I have done in wrestlemania's in the past, maybe its because of the lack of star names (Austin, Rock, Hogan, Flair and Foley all not wrestling) or maybe the lack of buildup in half the card

It just feels like another ppv

The truth is, without the HOF and The Piper's Pit, this show would suck. But because of those segments, I can't wait.

I wouldn't say suck, but the uncertainty of the quality of certain matches is prolly what's making us not so excited. Just my 2 cents.

Its just not as strong a card as last year. Just compare the two cards:

2005 match: HHH vs. Batista
2004 Equivalent: HHH vs. Benoit vs. HBK

HHH-Batista has had the much better build-up, but with three of the best workers in the history of wrestling in the main event, we knew we were in for a great match

2005 match: JBL vs. John Cena
2004 Equivalent: Eddie Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle

Again, JBL and Cena both have great characters, but neither is all that great in the ring. Eddie and Kurt, as we all know, are both phenomenal. Both matches were overshadowed by the Raw counterpart

2005 match: Trish vs Christy
2004 equivalent: Victoria vs. Molly

As great as Trish is, this match will be a stinker for sure. Victoria and Molly were at least both talented in the ring

2005 match: Randy Orton vs. Undertaker
2004 match: Undertaker vs. Kane

Both are intrabrand matches. But last year saw Taker's big return after a 4-month hiatus, as well as his return to the "Dead Man" persona. Orton, on the other hand, has lost a lot of steam since losing the title. This year's match is less anticipated, but should be a better match, as far as workrate goes, than the one with Kane

2005 match: HBK vs. Angle
2004 Equivalent: Goldberg vs. Brock

This is the one match that is far and away better than its 2004 counterpart. Something tells me HBK and Angle wont get booed out of the building

2005 match: Eddie vs. Rey
2004 equivalent: Jericho vs. Christian

This should be good from a wrestling perpective, but Jericho-Christian was a quality match with a much better build-up

2005 match: 6-man ladder match
2004 equivalent: Rock N Sock vs. Evolution

Rock, Foley, Flair, and two up-and-coming stars. The presence of the ladder makes this one a push

2005 match: Big Show vs. Akebono
2004 Equivalent: Uh, nothing. Show-Cena, I guess

Cena is ridiculously over. nobody gives a shit about Akebono. Its a decent idea, but unless we get a Butterbean-Bart Gunn type incident, this probably wont be too memorable

Rest of the card 2005: Piper's Pit, rumored Hogan vs. Hassan.
Rest of the card 2004: Two tag team title matches, Cruiserweight match

2005's rest-of-card should be better, especially from a nostalgia standpoint. The place will explode if Hogan interrupts Hassan or answers an open challenge from Hassan. Seeing Austin and Piper should also be very interesting. The other three matches on 2004's card were all disappointing.

Great rundown ther D....I think u nailed everything, except for 6 man ladder match. Imo that match is gonna rock, more so than The Rock and Foley match did last year (Not to say I didnt love that match). Like I said tho, without the HOF and Piper's Pit with Austin, this WM would have looked like another PPV (like Crock allready said).
ps: With that being said, I can't wait lol

I also think the ladder match is gonna be great, but I loved the Rock N Sock-Evolution match, despite the fact that I had a bright yellow spotlight shining in my eyes through half the match

That was the only time I saw Flair or Foley wrestle in person.
