This is the report of the HHH promo on Raw last night over on the Observer site. I haven't seen it yet and won't till later tonight and, to make it clear, I am not a HHH hater and actually enjoy the guy for the most part and just feel he is just given too much exposure and too many title runs (like a lot of people!!)

The comments are below, I'd just be interested to see what others thought?

"Triple H came out for one of the most telling interviews I have ever seen.
Wow, just wow. He said he is underappreciated, and talked about taking Randy
Orton and Batista from nothing and making them into stars. He talked about
Orton being on top of the business, and said now Orton is groveling for the
scraps of WrestleMania to make himself a star again. He said Batista could
beat JBL and Cena together by himself, but instead he decided to stay on
Raw. HHH continued by talking about how great he is, and said that someone
else calling himself a Wrestling God is a joke. He then talked about Chris
Benoit as another guy who fell to him. He said Batista will wrestle Kane in
an anything goes heel lumberjack match. He called Batista an animal that bit
the hand that fed him, and said he will put the animal down.

This was a well delivered, if overlong promo. However, never in my life have
I seen a promo where a top talent buried so many other people so completely,
and so unnecessarily. He hit on completely true weaknesses of character
after character, and just buried them to the fans. This was an eye-opening
moment, as out of insecurity the man who is supposed to eventually be in
charge of the promotion purposefully tried to bury all of his peers. I want
to make some sort of conclusory statement, but I just donâ€™t know what to
say. Wow."

Wow. While I'm obviously an HHH fan, I don't know if I completely agree with his promo. To bury his opponents in that fashion comes from his own insecurity. I usually say that when someone has to put down another person's talents, it arises from the fact that they know that that person's talents are just as good or even better than theirs. It makes you wonder what HHH's afraid of. He is a good wrestler in his own right, although, he was much better when he was not quite as big (muscle wise, that is). He still can carry heat, but he does not need and quite frankly shouldn't, put down other talented wrestlers.

I didnt watch Raw, but from what I can tell, the person who wrote that report is seriously overreacting.

What about when JBL talks about how he beat Undertaker, Booker, and Eddie Guerrero? Or how Batista is out of is league? Is he outting them down, or playing the part of the heel? why isnt that guy up in arms about JBL's promos.

What does he want, HHH to come out and say "I'm gonna go to Wrestlemania and give it my best. Good luck Batista, may the best man win!" He's a fucking heel, he's supposed to act like it

Like I said, I haven't seen it so it's harder to comment. However, on the content I'd agree Mister D there.

I think this article is just typical of the reporting on the internet generally anyway. I know the product is poor by comparison to how it was, but jesus some reporters are just so bloody negative ALL the time. Makes you wonder why they bother watching it or reporting on it anymore.

Although it was WAY too long I enjoyed the promo. I like Triple H as a wrestler but not as a person because he has way too much power and uses it to put himself over at the expense of others. Maybe that's why he put HHH down.

Well I always say, when you spend time putting people down, you're just making up for all your shortcomings, which also probably explains why he loves toting that hammer around so much... compensation issues, have we?

I'm probably the biggest HHH fan of anybody on this site and even I thought the promo was too long. He said everything there was to say in the first couple minutes. But I guess they needed him to fill time.

As soon as he started talking about Orton and Batista I knew he was giving the same promo he delievered in Raw magazine.

The problem with a 2005 HHH promo is that you can basically know what he is going to say before he takes 15 minutes of your life away. You can't get that time back people. lol. But seriously, I have no problem with the hand that feeds you garbage, cuz it wasnt bad, it was just the whole one diamond blah blah blah crap that gets so old. You need to fill time? Shit, there are 20 guys backstage that could do a 5 minute tag match instead.

I also have no problem with him talking so much trash as to me its not him REALLY shitting on them, it plays into his ego crumbling. His world is falling apart (storyline wise) and he is just playing the bully as long as he can. He knows its ending and he is terrified. (this will also lead to a HHH victory at Mania)

No way Simon...I agree with everything you said except HHH winning at Mania. You'll probably see HHH pick the title back up at Backlash, but I don't see how Batista loses at Mania. I say WWE gives Batista the strap, realizes that in this day and age fans get bored with Face champions, and then HHH picks up a cheap win at the next PPV. And lets face it people....there is only one guy on the RAW roster that could hold the title for a lengthy time while staying Face...and that's Y2J. Everone else will bore the shit out of you.
