Go back at 8 years ago and people were calling Vince a genius and saying he is the best promoter there ever was. Now jump ahead to the present and what you hear is the writes suck,Steph is running the writing team,All Vince likes are the big guys, and HHH having a lot of control over what goes on.
Did Vince lose the juice? Why has he let things get to this point if he is suppose to be a genius?Has he lost confidence in his abilities? His he slowing trying to let go so things will be done right when he steps down but is losing focus on what is going on right now? Who do you blame, Vince or the people surrounding him?
I think Vince is still in control hes just lost touch with his audience. He no longer knows what we want and when we tell him he won't listen cause hes stubborn. Thats the hallmark of a guy who is just too old. The audience has passed him by.
Maybe I'm being a little optimistic here, but I don't think Vince is doing anything with creative right now. I think that Vince is giving Stephanie a lot of control because, face it, he won't be around forever and daddy's little girl needs to be able to run the business without him - sink or swim. Vince is a smart guy, and I'd hope the is smart enough to let her learn from her mistakes while he's around to help fix them if they get too bad, instead of holding her hand and still having the final say in everything. If that's the case, then I hope Stephanie is learning from her mistakes (as there have been several), but the product isn't unwatchable, so that bodes well for the future. If that isn't the case, then Vince has lost touch with what his audience wants in most aspects of the business and needs to either reinvent himself like he did in the Attitude era, or bring someone in who knows what they're doing (*cough* Paul Heyman *cough*).

That is what I was thinking when I made this thread. He has to let her make her own mistakes but he must be biting his tongue pretty hard to sit back and watch some of the things that are being done if infact that is what is going on.
This may not come off as a popular opinion but I don't think a women should be in charge of the WWE.

I think a woman could do it...but not this woman. It's pretty clear that she has no idea what the audiance is looking for if in fact she is the one running things at this point. Look, like I said before..Vince got lucky to be in this situation. He's a smart business man do doubt, but I don't think he is as great a "mind" as he's given credit for.
Everything WWE has done since 1996 is live off of other people's ideas. He stole the stable wars from Eric and WCW, who stole them from Japan, he stole the high profile matches on free TV from WCW and the attitude and hardcore aspect from ECW and some other indy feds.
He also got lucky that Rocky Johnson gave birth to little Dwayne and that Steve Williams was fired from WCW. Stone Cold character was brought out on ECW television first I remind you.
You don't know that for sure. In the Bret Heart Bio Wrestling with Shadows,it shows Vince hands on when creating characters. I think he has a great mind for the business but maybe he is not so hands on like he use to be, specially since it is a public company now and he has people to answer to. Maybe he can't do things on a whim like the old days.
Well, I said he had a good mind I think..I was just saying that he is overatted.
A lot of the things you see in WWE were created somewhere else...and I haven't seen any new ideas since those companies folded...Now I see he wants to bring better talent to the cruiserweight division because he sees the success that the X-Division can be.
He's a smart man..Smart businessmen take advantage of other people's ideas, and use them for their own benifit. And nobody can knock what him and Hogan did in the 80's...Hulkamania was HUGE!!.

It's the same for lots of other talented people. How could Jagger and Richards write such great songs for a decade, but absolute crap for the last twenty years. It seems that a lot of "artistic" people have a shelf life where they go from being good to being rubbish, maybe because they lose touch with their audience.
I do also remember there was a school of thought that during the promotional wars, the companies were cramming so many storylines and scenarios into their shows that now, everything seems contrived and a re-hash of what we've seen before. It did seem like two decades of stories and turns and matches took place in a about four or five years.
