Gimmicks that seem to repeat

Why are people so quick to moan the second they see something that has been done before or may have similarities?

Does it bother you when you see a Abyss character who appears to be a rip off of Kane? Or a Mordecia character that is in the same area as Taker?

I don't mind when similar gimmicks are done because obviously there was something in there to begin with that was entertaining so if done right they can be just as entertaining with someone else doing something similar.

I find people whine and complain when a gimmick is similar to a popular character like they have no right to be doing it with out even giving them a chance.There is only so many things you can do and eventually there has to be a characters that maybe have things in common.

I don't mind a repeat gimmick if I actually like the gimmick..


I liked Mordecai. He looked cool, too bad he wasn't ready to wrestle. I like Abyss too. I mean, yeah he's kind of a Mankind/Kane rip off but he can move around in the ring pretty well and he's a tough son of a bitch.

I hate the Masters gimmick though. Always have. No matter how good he gets from an in-ring perspective, it'll be hard for me to like him with that gimmick.

People accuse Carlito of being a Razor Ramon rip off, but I like Carlito also, and that type of gimmick. It suits him well.

I annoys me that people find the smallest thing and then compare a gimmick to someone else. Carlito is nothing like Razor. For one thing Razor was "Cuban" and Carlito is Caribbean.Carlito is not very tall and Razor was. Carlito is more comical cool and Razor was more tough guy cool.Now the only thing left in all that is they both played the "I'm cool" role. Wow ya they are so much a like. *eyeroll*

I don't think there that much alike either...and I like both of them like I said in my previous post. I think peope just like to bitch about nothing sometimes, so they'll be like.."Oh, Carlito sucks...He's just tryin' to be Razor." Well then I guess if tryin to be like Razor means being a heel..then there on to something, but that's it. They are almost completely different as you said.

I've heard someone try to say Carlito is like Razor too. A lot of people say that. Carlito is a great charector, I really think he could be a superstar in the company.

Yeah Masters might be alright with a change of gimmick, he's not that great of a wrestler as of yet that I've seen, but he seems to have that certain look to be pretty good. Man I was so hyped about Mordecai I really thought that was gona be cool as hell. I thought they'd have a new brood type angle, and would be able to make it crazy ...

Carlito is going to be the next guy to turn into the "cool" bad guy that people like to root for..like The Legend Killer..or Stone Cold..

Carlito has the potential to be a big star if you ask me.

Hey Ida there is no nationality such as Carribean. Carlito is Puerta Rican. Razor was also supposed to be a white Puerta Rican from Miami. They are the same in that respect.

That's funny because I read Razor was suppose to be Cuban. Not to mention he looks acts and talks with a Cuban accent. And Carlito is no way is even close to being white. What the hell are you talking about?

I mentioned Caribbean because it is part of his gimmick.
