I'd like to reward you by giving you a great opportunity, on the biggest stage of them all, to not only showcase your talents at Wrestlemania, but to advance your careers, yadda yadda yadda". But what the hell, i'm sure it will be a great match
I dont think the match necessarily needs months of build-up like HHH-Batista, but just a little effort on the part of the writers to explain why exactly these 6 guys are in the match. I mean, we know that these 6 guys (plus HHH, Batista, and Orton) are the biggest stars on Raw, but you're not supposed to assume that everyone knows that. You're supposed to prove it to the audience
Its like when HHH was handed the World Title by Bischoff back in '02. We all know HHH was the biggest star on Raw at the time, but that doesnt mean you should just give him the title. Show us that he's the best. Have him win a match or a tournament to prove it. Dont just assume that we know it., even if we do. Thats lazy writing
This is Wrestlemania. The matches are supposed to be special. I dont think its too much to ask for there to be a just a little backstory to each match
I didnt say it was a big deal. I just said it couldve been handled better. I'm not complaining for the sake of complaining. Its just constructive criticism
Lol, everything can be done better but how much of a build up do you really need with a match that has no real feud other than winning the match itself? There are 6 guys. That is 4 weeks if matches they can have on Raw before the PPV. There is really nothing else that needs to be done other than have it be an awesome match at the PPV. It is a PPV ladders match with 6 people. It isn't about how it is built up, it is how good the match is and who is in the match and nothing else. You just sit back and look forward to a great ladder match like most of them are.
This is obviously just a difference in philosophy. I understand that you're on this "ultra-optimistic" kick to counteract ultra-negative people like steveo and jackie, but I truly think that my point is neither asking for something unreasonable (a better explanation for the inclusion of a high-profile match) nor ultra-negative (I said myself that I'm looking forward to the match).
Yes, everything can be made better, but if the people in Stamford ignore thier problems (as you are indirectly suggesting they do, in this case) then things will never get better. Thats where the word "constructive" in constructive criticism comes in.
I wasnt trying to say that the match needed more build-up, because like you said, they have a month to do it. I just thought they could have done a better job explaining:
a) why the match was being made in the first place
b) why those 6 guys were chosen, as opposed to any other 6 superstars
Mister D. They did explain it lol. For one thing Eric said twice ant Y2J came to him and asked for a ladder match and if I am not mistaken they are all vets (with the exception of Shelton ) of the ladder match. I wasn't listening to everything that was said but I think Eric did say why he picked them.
1. The crowd chanting "You screwed Matt!" & "You screwed Lita"
2. Flair saying to Haitch "You, me, the hammer, we're the three amigos!"
And the one thing that made me scream WTF?
The WWE putting the title on Christy Hemme!! WTF?! is that s***. If this doesn't put the icing on the tombstone of the already flailing Women's Divsion, I don't know what else would.. oh wait a title defence with her and Stacy! Somebody get the razors so I can gouge my eyes out. I rather watch Snitsky and Heidenreich wrestle each other!!!

Triple H was the number one contender to Lesnar and because Lesnar left and HHH had beaten the Undertaker the week before he was given the belt. That was the story.
As far as this match goes, I'm kinda glad they didn't do some tournament or sumthin' cuz it would have been precitable who would be in the match. Rosey wasn't gonna be in it right? It's like the Tourney Cena just won. It sucked so bad cuz you knew the outcome from the start. Less was better in this situation.
And as far as someone saying Christy is going over Trish..What gives you that idea? I'm sure they will try to make her look respectable, but I'd be shocked if they gave the Women's Division the death sentence. Trish will take this, I'm sure.

I agree with Mister D on this one. The decision to make HHH champ without having a tourney was horrible. Do you know how exciting it would have been to have a tournament/BattleRoyal on Raw that night? Instead they gave us nothing. And I think thats what ruined that Title for me...I see the RAW World Title as a vanity belt, like the Million $ belt used to be.
