the guy put on a horrible match, no need to get all mad about it...
I'm not mad, I just knew this thread would generate the typical responses from people who think every new wrestler should wrestle like they have 10 years experience. He can put on a good match and I have seen it.
Yes the match on raw was bad but I don't think he should get all the blame. You have to know someone booked that match move for move and he was just following it.
Has anyone else noticed that a lot of these shitty matches have been taking place more often ever since Patterson quit?
I dont blame Masters for what happened, I blame WWE for it. He looked green, but we cant really judge from only 1 match really, but if he is green WWE is to blame. There are alot of wrestlers out there, why put on their main show, guys who basically arent ready? If Master isnt ready yet, why bring him up? At least have him wrestle on HEAT. The same thing with Snitzky, Mordecai, Tomko, Heidejfajfkjach???, etc. Well I wasnt really impressed with Masters, but then again, we can't really judge from one match.
His entire introduction was a farce. Nobody had any idea what the hell he was about and it meant ZERO heat from the crowd. He has the look for sure, he's not horrible on the mic by any means (I know we saw him for all of 10 seconds), but WWE, yet again, dropped the ball with his debut. Totally f**ked it up.
1) The match itself sucked
2) They put him in a match for his debut that was thrown together at the last minute with no pre-announcement/anticipation
3) Nobody on the commentary side seemed to give a shit either.
4) Nobody cared.
I used to love it when theyd introduce a debutant and build it and build it and build it, and then make the debut the end of a big angle. Like Tazz' debut for example.
But with Taz's debut we already knew what we were going to see going in. I do remember when Kurt Angle debuted against Shawn Stasiak there was aero heat for a shitty match there too. Kurt Angle made it but I think he had all the necessary tools to succeed.
Yeah I mean I couldnt believe how little of an introduction there was. A little screen saying coming up next his debut. I mean jesus, put some more effort into it...

this is a good point (esp numbers 2, 3 & 4)
it really seems to me that jr and king are severly hurting matches when they "call" them. they ignore what's going on in the ring to talk about the guys or in this case one of the guys character instead. or to talk about some other pointless shit. they call maybe 2 or 3 moves and then babble on and on.
also, who could've thought this was a real match. stevie hasn't been seen on raw in almost a month, gets no entrance music (at least for the tv fans to see) and everyone knows he's booked to lose at all times, vince even pointed it out awhile ago on tv.
poor stevie. i don't know how good masters is yet, i have no way of seeing ovw, but they booked this poorly for both guys

Exactly.
What I don't understand is how they can book something so good like the Batista/HHH storyline and fuck up something so simple as a debut. Why can't they just do what they did for Simon Dean and just have him come out and do a promo thing and get use to the crowd and TV? Then at least book a match that is actually worth watching.
