I came across an idea for what WWE could do with the Smackdown! main event at Wrestlemania. When Orton chatted with HBK last night on RAW, HBK mentioned how you don't wait to be asked to be a part of Wrestlemania, you go out and take it. This led me to thinking, wouldn't it have been interesting if after Batista made his choice and signing the RAW contract, Orton came out and signed his name to the Smackdown! contract?

That would set up a triple-threat match between Orton, JBL and Cena for the WWE Title. Orton could win that match, and that would send him over to Smackdown!, where he would have a ready-made program with Cena, who'd be pissed at Orton for stealing the title. I'd have Orton play the heel, but really, either guy could be heel and the program would work.

I doubt this will happen, but I thought it sounded like a cool idea. It would give Orton a high-profile match, make him a big player again, and inject some new life into Smackdown!

That would be similar to what HBK did last year, when he signed the contract so that he could insert himself into the HHH-Benoit match

Also, did anyone notice that when HBK was talking about taking the opportunity, and his ladder match at WM X, there was a ladder in the background? That got me thinking that there might be some sort of ladder match...maybe Orton vs. Shelton for the IC title

Orton & Benjamin are missing programs and I think that match with the right spots could regain Orton`s top-card status and maybe get Shelto a little more reaction from the crowds

I think Orton will jump to SmackDown and try to "Kill a Legend." What better way to make an impression by taking down the biggest dog in the yard.

I'm glad you mentioned that Mister D. I noticed the same thing. HBK also said that Orton has to go and "take" his opportunity.

So maybe Orton will turn heel (as he should), beat the hell out of somebody, and have a ladder match at Mania like HBK and Razor.

Orton-Shelton would be a great ladder match.

Yeah, I think a SD move would give his career a jumpstart. He kinda hit a brick wall after losing the World Title to HHH. I've heard rumors of an Orton-Taker match at WM

Although I think a ladder match with Shelton would be a great match.
