Is Batista ready to be The Man?

Yeah, pretty much everybody who watches RAW these days can't wait to see this whole storyline unfold with Batista eventually kicking Triple H's ass at Mania (if you believe HHH will lose) but my question is, is Batista ready at this point in time to be the show's #1 guy?

This has been a situation where WWE made all the right moves in letting the story develop, Batista made the angle work for him, and HHH sold it.

Batista has grown on me a lot in a short time, no doubt, but I can't see where he goes, with his current workrate from here. He isn't going to be doing 30 minutes matches with HBK or Benoit, so what is he going to turn into Goldberg?

I still can't comprehend him as a night in, night out, main eventer, but at least he's made for some great TV over the last couple months.

So do you guys think he is World Champion material at this time?

As recent as two or three years ago, I would have found Batista's quick rise to glory a bit hard to take. But I am really getting used to WWE giving a relatively new guy their belt now. So yeah, I think that Batista is ready to be the man.

Besides, this guy's on fire right now, so WWE might as well cash in while they can. How long can he stay "The Man" though, I think will be interesting to see. I bet the person that he loses the belt back to will be HHH.

Batista has also grown on me too he has that mean look, but I dont know if he is world champ material. Like for example Chris was a good choice because he can have a match with anyone and they both come out looking good, hows the big man gonna do that he has to plow who ever hes facing just like goldberg did (just like blitz basically said) and make his opponent look like shit. But who knows it could actually be entertaining to watch for a change because I never did see the proper goldberg in the WCW days I only got to see the "I have feelings and I sell for anyone" WWE goldberg who licked dog balls and wasent fun to watch.

Batista has been great lately, but as a main eventer he is going to fail. I think WWE knows that too. If they do give him the belt it will be only for a few months, just so they can cash in, like Lou said. Batista has been great as a supporting factor, but as the main focus, IT WILL NOT WORK. Unless they keep putting him on amazing storylines, Batista will turn out to be, the worst champion in history. I really do believe that.

Umm, Narc. I am pretty sure that is quite possibly the worst statement you have made on this forum to date.

Batista is generated good heat that the WWE has not seen since Brock Lesnar. They will not only cash in on it, but Batista will carry that title for AT LEAST 6 months. Sure, he may lose it to HHH, but Jesus Christ himself would have to put over HHH's quest for 17 title reigns.

Batista will work. Mark my words.

The guy cant wrestle. To me he is like Joe Pesci. Better at being a supporting actor, than the main one. Comon Simon, what has he done that has been so great? Nobody cared about him before this great storyline. He was at the right place at the right time. And the guy is no Brock Lesnar. There is no comparison. Brock was amazing in and out of the ring (way better in tho). You talk about a fad...........Batista is definetely one lol
ps: trust me, I have made worse statements on here lol :baa:

Where is this "he can't wrestle" crap coming from? Why does everyone expect the big guys to be AJ Styles. He can wrestle just as good as the next guy. I don't get what people mean when they say a wrestler can't wrestle and no one ever explains further.

I know people like him and all, but what explanation do you need, when i say he sux? If I said Tomko sucked, you would need no explanations. Batista imo is not that good in the ring and out. I just dont like him I guess. I never did. I see no talentin Batista, except for goodlooks and an amazing storyline.

Ya I need an explanation because I think RVD sucks. Just because you think soemone can't wrestle doesn't mean that can't. You're no expert so why should I just automaticlly take your word for it. Who made you wrestling expert or judge. If you think he can't wrestle then explain why. What does he do that makes him not able to wrestle? What is it you don't like about how he wrestles? What makes Tomko a bad wrestler? No one ever explains.

batista has a good look (hell, i'd do him and i hate muscley men) and can talk. i think he pulls off a devasting look when he wrestles. i can see how you'd compare him to goldberg, but in a personal / political meaning, no way do they compare. plus all goldberg ever did was the spear, wh/ i hate (although i sometimes enjoy "the poooouuunnnccee")
i'm glad they've waited to give him the belt and i think he'll do a good job with it when he gets it. i hope he stays heely though b/c damnit i hate pure faces.

(yeah, i loved him as the beacon too)
