The sudden switch in Orton's character basically killed him off. Hopefully, the writers and McMahon realise that and not only turn Orton back, but keep Big Dave the same.
I told you guys he wasn't ready to be "The Man"...and this isn't another Triple H rant...it has nothing to do with Triple H.
The match at the Bash was brutal with JBL..I know Dave is over at the moment because of the lingering effects of the Triple H feud, but you really think this is going to last with the matches he's been putting on?
I'm not saying give the title back to JBL either because he's just as bad if not worse, but I think after Batista has a match with Lesnar and a couple other guys they can sell a feud with, maybe Taker, he needs to step aside..
He's 40 years old. He's not going to get better. He's nothing but a "Flash in the pan" champion at this point..
I'm tired of giving him chances..he's as good as he's going to get.
God, I'm happy Brock is coming back. I'm never going to see a weak ass main event with Lesnar in the ring. He'll pull a great match out of somebody if he has to.

Honestly, I think there is still a big role for this guy there. He is a complete monster in the ring and can perform excellent power moves, combine that with a good WWE look and he has huge positives.
As others have said before, although he is coming up on 40 it's really not such a big thing for him. His body has not been subject to a WWE schedule for a decade or so, he's not breaking down, and he relies on power moves as opposed to high spots.
What's gone wrong, for me anyway, is that although he's been booked to look strong in going over HHH three times etc, we've not been seeing the explosive short matches from him. Hell even when fighting OJ a few weeks ago, the match had to be made a fifteen minute one with Batista selling for over half of it. Just no way to book him and it's contributed to him losing momentum.
Fans wanted to get behind him when he was destroying everyone, now he wrestles longer matches and sells (or tries to) lots of the time. I also quite like the cool part of his character but if he gets too much mic time and tries to do obvious humour it just doesn't work. He should get back to being a cool guy that doesn't talk a lot.
As to what he's got to come....well Orton returning is a built in feud, he's not met 'Taker yet, Brock returning too would be good. I would love to see him feud with Eddie too.
So in short......shorten the matches, lessen the interviews/promos, keep the belt for now, no more matches with JBL, and feuds with 'Taker, then Eddie, then Orton and lose the belt to a heel Brock!!
Well..I can't say I don't agree with you on most counts.
I do think we should see the matches with Orton, Taker, and Brock take place, but I don't know..
He's ok in the ring, but only when he's in there with a really good in-ring performer. You're right he has talked too much, but about the part with the length of his matches..
They had no choice but to book him and JBL the way they did because they had time to fill.
I guess what I'm complaining about has a lot to do with JBL also, he really needs to get the fuck out of the main event for everyone's sake..
I just don't like these really crappy main events..I didn't like them when Goldberg was doing it either..They need to at least keep Dave with somebody who can wrestle a little bit..
A lot of people in this forum have commented about Batista being a squash machine, Youre Wrong. Dig out a few tapes from 9 months back when evolution were The Horsemen. Watch him in the tag matches when he & Flair were champs. He sold more than Flair and thats saying something. The guy is not Chris Benoit or HBK or even, dare say it in this place without recieving abuse, a HHH. But on the same score he`s a guy with tremendous heat right now and he can carry his own, compare him to other recent OVW bigmen and he looks like Ricky Steamboat. It is the right time to give him the strap purely on crowd reaction. I agree with purist that it would have been better for him to go 25/30 mins with a few stars on PPV first but to hold back the enivitible HHH payoff would possibly kill his career. So basically all you doubters tell me Im wrong after he has to do some work at Backlash. Until then enjoy the fact that WWE has entertained us with this one.
I stand by this quote and I am very upset that we will not see a Batista-Hassan main event were Batista would hold a good match. Its all very well to say that the GAB match was brutal but so have most of JBL's main event offerings, and beyond that it was booked terribley. Unfortunatley Batista has been sent to the world of the Damned on smackdown. The only three guys he could hold half-decent fueds with are tied-up in their own respective programmes (EDDIE with rey, BENIOT trying to get OJ to the next level and RANDY ORTON finishing the Taker fued). And to be honest if it was Brock in his position he would also struggle. I think Batista is still currently a draw, but agree that his current stint with JBL can do nothing but lower his stock.
EDIT: I started typing this before Bulldog's post, didnt just copy his stuff.
So you guys don't agree that I would put the belt back on a guy like Eddie and watch him go?
I'm not really trying to bash Dave here, but I just get pissed when I watch a main event and it ends up being one of the worst matches on the card.
JBL DOES have a lot to do with this though...God, I can't stand him anymore..I wish WWE would realize that nobody gives a shit about JBL and move him down the card.
You guys think an old rehash of the Virgil-Dibiase feud would work with JBL and OJ?
Maybe help elevate OJ as a face, and also give JBL something outside of the main event?

I read a report with a guy regarding the PPV where he said both JBL and Batista can have good matches, however they both need to be up against opponents that are better than they are (I guess that doesn't explain the aberation of JBL-Cena "I Quit" match which was excellent).
JBL cannot do a good PPV match that is just a wrestling match, it has to have all sorts of stipulations for it to match up. I've also grown bored of his character already even though he does cut a good promo still. Put him back in the middle of the card, maybe have him have a stable of wrestlers and prinicipally be a manager that only wrestlers occasionally. And yes, a feud with OJ if done correctly could be good.
