For those in Germany and the UK, ECW's new TV program will air on Premiere Sport on Saturday in Germany and on Sky Sports 3 on Sunday in the UK.
WWE.com has also announced that John Cena vs. Rob Van Dam for the WWE Championship at ECW One Night Stand will be made official on Monday Night RAW this week when a contract signing takes place.
An article has been added in the ECW section of WWE.com taking a look at Tazz's challenge to Jerry Lawler on SmackDown for the ECW One Night Stand PPV on June 11.
There is also an article up talking about the "dream match" between Rey Mysterio and Sabu at ECW One Night Stand on June 11 for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE.com.
Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast,
Reports are that WWE.com has removed the ECW One Night Stand t-shirt that listed the entire card including two matches that have not been announced. No word yet on if those matches will actually happen or not.
WWE.com has posted footage of what happened after the WWE vs. ECW special went off the air last night. The video has the brawl continuing until John Cena got his hands on the Sandman's singapore cane. He then cleared the ring using the cane and started hitting himself in the head with the cane.
WWE.com has a video interview up with The Big Show and Paul Heyman where Show tells why he defected to ECW. This is one of the best Big Show promo's I've seen in a long time and is worth checking out.
As noted last night, Randy Orton is now a member of the RAW roster.
Reports are that there is a great feeling of optimism about the "new" ECW after last night's show. Even a lot of the non-ECW wrestlers enjoyed working the style. Many who doubted the entire project after RAW are now feeling much better about it because they now think Vince McMahon will actually let ECW be something different and not just another WWE-style brand.
Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast,
Thanks to Adam Lebow for sending this to me: During the edition of Friday Night SmackDown that is airing right now on The Score, in Canada, Michael Cole announced during the opening Super Crazy vs. Brian Kendrick match that Tajiri and Super Crazy would team up against the F.B.I. at ECW One Night Stand. Additionally, Tazz goes off again on Lawler, saying that King Booker is the only King in the WWE.
Paul Heyman spoke with WWE.com and had this to say about Rey Mysterio and ECW: “Yes, ECW is actively courting and pursuing Rey Mysterio,†said Heyman. “Mysterio could not get a break in the United States in 1994 and 1995 when he was without questions unparalleled. He was the greatest high-flyer on the planet, bar none, and yet no one would recognize him – not WWE and certainly not WCW. Who recognized Rey Mysterio? ECW recognized Rey Mysterio."
Paul Heyman will be scripting ECW, however, Vince McMahon will have the final say over what airs. Although, unlike the WWE writers such as Ed Koskie, Dave Lagana, and Brian Gewirtz, Heyman is less likely to book explicitly to please McMahon and is more likely to push new concepts. McMahon considers this ECW project as a major opportunity to expand revenue and to also try new concepts without much risk. Also, the new ECW brand plans to feature more in-ring wrestling along the lines of Ring Of Honor.
WWEShop.com is re-listing the ECW One Night Stand t-shirt, but it is no longer advertising the back of the shirt as it contained spoilers on matches that had yet to be announced on television.
Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast,
-- It’s said that Stephanie McMahon is still not a fan of Heyman or the revival of ECW, and that if she had a choice she would likely try to stop it. Vince and Shane both seem to be pretty excited about bringing back ECW.
-- It now looks like Test will be involved with the new ECW. Right now the plan is to have him come in as a top tier heel.
-- The Sci-Fi Channel doesn’t seem to be happy with the decision to add ECW to their lineup, but they were the only channel on the NBC-Universal network that it would fit in. They didn’t want to put ECW on USA yet, but if the ECW summer series does well on Sci-Fi, then they may be able to move it over to USA. The same person at Universal who got WWE back on USA is also the same person who put ECW on Sci-Fi.
