Alternate Universe: Road to Wrestlemania

Since it seems old Deacon Dave will be the big thing for '05, you might as well make the transition as grand as possible. So here's the short version of what I think would be cool. Granted they already announced the No Way Out main event, this is another dimension, so bear with me.

Batista opts to wrestle JBL and jumps to SD. Some of the main players on SD are pissed that a Raw guy and relative rookie, gets to walk in, on their show, and take the best spot on the biggest show of the year. And, if he wins, it makes SD look horrible as this new guy walks in and wins, and for the better part of the year JBL has turned away all of SD's main guys. So, they threaten to strike if he doesn't give up his shot. Teddy and Vince have a pow-wow, and decide it's not fair to the fans, or Batista to force him to take the Raw title match when it's common knowledge u can go wherever the Rumble winner chooses. Yet, they can't afford to have half the roster walk out either, so Batista is granted his shot, at No Way Out.

Of course he wins, the next night on Raw, he walk out, Smackdown Champ with Vince. Vince announces that after the controvesy, he held off on making the 2 world title matches at WM until No Way Out was over. HHH comes out, congratulates Dave, and asks Vince who the most dominant force in wrestling will face in their respective title defenses. Vince smiles, "don't you know? the Royal Rumble winner! It doesn't matter that he happens to hold the SD world title, winning the rumble means u get to challenge the world champ at Wrestlemania, he won the Rumble and you'te the only World champ he can possibly challenge." HHH is pissed. "The winner will unify the titles and one champion will once again appear on both shows." Incensed, HHH belt shots both Vince and Dave, bloodying Batista.

Ya I know it's a little inconsistent, but it would be a cool twist I think.

I really wouldn't call Batista Rookie by any means. He has been wrestling for almost 6 years now.

It is interesting but if that were possible, it would have been pointed out last year when Beniot won the Rumble. I doubt they would see one loophole and miss another. Too hard to pass off now as believeable.

What about HHH, afraid to face Big Davey, cons him to put his shot on the line against Benoit. HHH helps Benoit win and Batista loses his shot. Triple H can now have his revenge against the Wolverine.
