AJ Styles in the WWE

Well I bet that got your attention.

I`ve just found online a copy of an AJ matchup with the Hurricane (back in 2002 I think (Mighty Molly was present)). What a match, how is this guy not tearing smackdown up? It was a 5-minuter (on WWF Metal) and somehow the pair crammed in a little crowd psycology, comedy (remember when Hurricane thought he was the big show), top spots (a shooting star press, a immense brain buster and a finisher I cant explain and have never seen Hurricane perform again) and made me enjoy a match.

Just think of the mid card breath of fresh air AJ would bring. Call it for either the cruiserweight or for the US but look at a division that would include Rey,RVD(when fit),Matt Hardy,Eddie Ultimo Dragon (he`s on his way back I believe). That would be ten solid months of programming that could save us from JBLism and the quest for Undertaker to put over sh!t£ big guys.

Either that or just repackage Smackdown as ECW..........(WWE only use ideas that have already been used b4)

Was it the Vertabreaker? He used to do it in WCW. He basically holds a guy upside-down on his back, and then drops down

As for the "AJ on Metal" type thing, another guy who worked an awesome Metal match was Low-Ki. I was at HHH's return back in January '02, and Low-Ki vs. Christian was a match on the Metal taping. These two tore the house down. One of the best matches I've seen in person. I couldnt believe Low-Ki wasnt signed to a contract

Don't think he'd go to the WWE for the following -

- He's seen how Kendrick, London and other independent "smaller" wrestlers have done there.
- He's turned down a development deal with them before and is aware how petty some backstaffers in WWE can be when it comes to remembering such things.
- He would sure as hell be instructed (as was RVD) to cut out large parts of his offense so as not to risk injuring other WWE performers.
- He would have to deal with guys like Undertaker, HHH and other locker room leaders telling him that he doesn't yet know how to "wrestle" properly.
- His faith would mean that he would likely not want to be involved in the type of storylines he would be asked to perform in (HBK gets away with it....he's got stroke!!)
- He's said before that he enjoys being free to take independent bookings and work a less demanding schedule. He also knows he takes home more than most WWE mid/lower card performers do.

For all the potential he has, I'd rather have the AJ we have now than a guy who is just a watered down version of AJ in Velocity matches lying down constantly for JBL and his cronies.

I've only seen Styles for about 45 seconds while channel surfing, and let me say, as the barber says in Coming to America, "that boy is good."

AJ is pretty damn sick and everybody knows WWE would ruin him, so I hope they never get that chance. Same goes with Petey, Sabin, and any other top cruiserweight in the indies and TNA.

I think if anything. The cruiserweights need to be allowed to "run the asylum" so the speak, when it come to thier division. They know what the crowd wants, they know what sells. Vince and the writers need to let them play their way. Then maybe, they would have a chance to be more than "time fillers". Honest to god, I miss the old WCW days when they would have 20 minute cruiserweight matches. I sat there in awe the entire time. Watching Rey, Eddie, Chavo, Juvi, Jericho, La Parka, Ultimo, and the rest go at it.

Rather see Styles stay in TNA and continue to tear it up with Sabin & Williams. There, the matches seem to have not much of a time limit, whereas in the WWE they're told get your match over and done with ASAP. And it's true that Styles would get burried by the veterans or b/c of the new director of talent who says you've got to be over 6 feet and over 200 lbs, he'd never have a chance of getting hired or moving anywhere w/in the ranks, but talentless morons like Sh***sky and Heidenreich get their spots no problem. Yeah, like we wanna see another bunch of Tests running around the ring - I don't think so!
