I personally hate the ECW PPV idea. Brining back the King of the Ring would be great though as long as it is set-up the way it was originally, 3 matches in a night! KotR was once in my top 3 fav PPVs (behind the Rumble and Wrestlemania only.... oh and maybe old school Survivor Series).

But if they did it this time they should set it up so that there are 4participatnts from each brand and in the opening rounds they fight stars from the other show. It would provide fresh matches for the fans which should bring up viewership.

Then they could have the 7matches in the tournament plus 2championship matches. It would be sweet!
