Question on Win/Loss Records

I was wondering if somebody could tell me whether or not battle royals count as losses for those who don't win it?

Honestly, should win/loss records actually be counted, I doubt they should count as a loss, or even a win. It's a specialty match with to many factors, only the winner should be recorded, and even if they did record it, it should not go towards your suppossed ranking as a singles competitor.

If Benoit is number 1 contender, and Batista is 2, and in a tag match, Batista pins Benoit, he doesn't go up in placement, because it was a tag match, the team itself would rise. So in a battle royal, which is a general free for all, even if the win has some stipulation or some reward for winning, I doubt it's counted toward the wrestlers personal record, other than the fact that he just happen to win it.

I doubt any pro baseball players count strike outs in a home run derby towards their batting average. (only example I could think of).

So I'd say when it comes to personal W/L records, they mean nothing, even if you win. My 2 cents.

Thanks, i asked because after weeks of work i put together a list of PPV win/loss records for anyone who has participated on a wrestling PPV and with 29 people failing to win the royal rumble every year losses could really hurt some of them. I also have to decides whether to count TNA's weekly shows they used to do.

Losing a battle royal is like getting DQ in a match it doesnt really matter til you get pinned or tap out. Like for instance Brock Lesner was undefeated even though he lost a match to RVD for the IC title by DQ and lost a tag match with Tajiri when Tajiri got pinned by Rey but non of that matter til you get the 1-2-3.
