Rep Power: 24 ![]() ![]() | Face paint and other gimmicks, Should it make a comeback? The Road Warriors and The Ultimate Warrior had awesome face paint and it worked well for them. There haven't been many wrestlers who used face paint in a while. Do you think it should make a come back? It seems lately that wrestlers and gimmicks basically consist of a wrestlers personality and little more, unlike something different ie. Ultimate Warrior and the The Road Warriors. The tag teams now mostly consist of singles wrestlers tossed together or even the ones who are purely tag teams have been broken up or stripped of most of their gimmick like La Resistance or The Bashams. There is a rumor going around that Matt Morgan will be returning with a mask. Do you think WWE should start doing this more now? They tried giving Kenzo a big gimmick but it went down to nothing after a few weeks. I think WWE needs to start using more bold gimmicks now. Having wrestlers only gimmick being their attitude or personality is great for a lot of wrestlers, but it can get old if most of them are doing it for a long time and then it gets a little bland. I say bring back a little cheese in the gimmicks but at the same time make it entertaining and fun to watch! What do you think?? |

Rep Power: 17 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I really would like to see gimmicks like that comeback. Some of the best wrestlers/teams, had either face paints or crazy gimmicks. I dont know if today they would work, but I surely do miss them. I think Brock Lesnar should have had face paint tho. He had too much of a baby face. Also Batista should have came in with his Leviathan gimmick. I dont think they should over do it, but one here and there wouldnt hurt I dont think. Lately thats all you have, are wrestlers with the same look (Test, Haas, Jindrak, Christian, Orton, Cade, etc.) and I dont think that can be good.

Rep Power: 24 ![]() ![]() | Ya that was also something I noticed. Everyone is starting to look the same. They need to start mixing it up abit and go with a gimmick and actually stick with it. The only thing they did different lately was Eugene. |

I suppose face paints are not what WWE wants because it's been wanting to get away from the colorful characters of the early 90's, and wants to be taken seriously by the mainstream media. But man, without gimmicks, so many of the wrestler are just so boring. Not only that, their entrances (the MOST important part of pro wrestling IMO) are all becoming indistinguishable. And now, even some of the more colorful characters who had success throughout the Attitude era are becoming blend. I actually looked forward to seeing Hardcore Holly when he was doing the Don Quixote-like character. Now, he's just another tough dude. I agree that introducing some of the new guys with face paints can really set them apart from the rest - and WWE might actually sell more t-shirts too!

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Masks and facepaints could be quite handy for Vince, if you look at like this: 1. Vince loves big guys. 2. Most of the Big guys Vince gets, don't have a shread of charisma or acting ability. 3. Have a big guy like Heidenrich (sp?), Tomko, or even Batisa wear a mask or heavy paint, and give them a Sting Crow Gimmick, or Even Edge's origanial gimmick. They just hang out in the dark, in the rafters, or elsewhere. Never speak, instead letting their actions speak for them. They run in, dominate their match, or help/hinder ally/adversaries, and leave just as quickly. It keeps them mysterious, and makes us want to see more of them, rather than going, "Ah crap, Heidenrich has the mike again, time to go take out the trash...." Just a thought..
