I don't know why but I really love this guy, everything he does is gold. His slight mannerisms are genius and you truly believe he could kill anyone on the Raw Roster if he really wanted to. His mic works is also very good, he's very calm and calculated on the mic, he doesn't have to shout, you just know by looking at him that you're going to get your arse handed to you. His ring work has improved drastically over the last six months too. I seriously think that a Batista/HHH feud would be ten times better than a HHH's feud with Orton.
Batista is a rarity in the main-event scene; he's an intelligent big man. I don't mean intelligent in the ring, I'm talking about real intelligence. He's got a glint in his eye; he seems to take everything in. When HHH is giving his usual speech about being the best Batista never looks convinced (Even before the swerve.) I don't know if this is intended but his character has got a ton of depth. Trust me, the WWE are sitting on a gold mine with this guy, he's got the look, charisma to boot and decent ring work.
I have to agree with you Crock, but there's one problem. Trips will never job to him. While I think that Batista could make a pretty good champ, I don't see it happening as long as Trips has the tight grip on the belt that he currently does.
I didnt like Batista at first, but he's really grown on me. Judging by the reaction he got before last week's swerve, I'd say most fans have taken to him as well.

He has been very well protected thus far in the WWE. Mainly worked tag team matches which have enabled him to avoid many ppv losses. They have also prevented the in ring limitations he has had from showing by putting him mainly in singles encounters with Benoit, Jericho, Edge etc.
I enjoy his promos when he delivers them methodically and with a slow build (in the same way as a Jake the Snake or Heel Mick Foley promo) and without the usual big guy growling crap.
No doubt a big upside and just starting to get over himself now. Which obvioulsy means WWE will now turn him or swerve the viewers about three times in the 'Mania build up until no one gives a crap about him anymore.
yeah Batista is cool, at first I thought he was yet another "BIG GUY" on the scene in too good of a position, but hes on another level in comparison to most other big guys....
hes really improved, hes got the look, mic skills getting better as is his in-ring work
I dont like him at all. Imo hes horrible. There is nothing special to this guy. You guys are saying that he is not just another big guy, but he is. Brock/Taker werent just another "big guy". He has improved I guess, but hes still nothing special. I rather see JBL as champ than Batista. At least JBL can give one hell of a promo.
And they say it's the foreign man I should fear!
But, it's my own kind doin all the killin' here!!!
He needs to ease up on the flexing and posing, although I'm sure management has a hand in that since it's part of his schtick on the stage before hitting the ring. He also needs to stop with the Steve Blackman promos where he speaks normally, then yells out a certain word, then speaks normally again. It's unrealistic and makes him look like a stereotypical "big dumb" wrestler. Otherwise he's on the right track. He's got a good look, good power moves (I especially like the spinebuster, but not so much the sit-out powerbomb since I think big guys should have finishers where they stay vertical), and best of all, he's aligned with the right guys. No better way to ensure you get pushed than to hang around with Triple H.
Well from a storyline point of view, Maven looked at Triple H as someone who couldn't be trusted, plus he knew he wouldn't get a World Title shot so long as Triple H is champion if he's aligned with him. Of course that whole angle was riddled with holes, but that was the gist of the idea.
