Yes, as I said earlier, I like the JBL character. Most fans don't seem to care for it, however.
How do you know? He is a heel. I don't see the ratings changing that much to be able to tell if it is him cauing the non change or not.People bitched about HHH too and I really have no clue what the mass fans think of him as a champ because he is a heel. He does get nice pops however but he doesn't hate on the fans as much as other heels do.
How do I know that most people don't care for JBL? Well, other than all the JBL-bashing that goes on, there is a poll on WWE's website asking who will be the biggest story out of Armageddon; JBL is last with like 6%. I just took that to mean that 94% of fans don't give a shit about JBL. Could be wrong, stranger things have happened.
HHH is a completely different story from JBL. Currently, and undeniably I think, HHH is in a league of his own as top heel in the business, period. I am not saying he is a bigger heel than Ted DiBiase, but in todays wrestling world HHH is the best. Whether you like the character or hate the character, either way, it works.
JBL on the other hand is a "young" singles character altogether. Given time, like HHH and numerous others before him, JBLs character has an interesting enough dynamic too become a top heel. Its all in the way the creative team handles his character, and careful planning for the future is the key. A scenerio like I gave earlier in the post has the potential to win over fans over. Add on a heel turn and a return to arrogance during a second title reign, and JBL could easily become Smackdown's top heel.

I don't care that much about the storylines he is in either but that doesn't mean I am losing sleep at night because there isn't a token champ like Taker Angle or Eddie. Personally I want to see Booker T as the champ.
Well the debate here has been about JBLs character and alot of people seem to be treating it as if he is undeserving of top heel. Technically he is the top heel (given the title). My point was, to create or ensure that JBLs character is a legitimate top heel for Smackdown, a storyline such as the one I suggested would solidify the fans anger towards his character and therefore, legitimize his status as top heel on Smackdown, in a similar fashion to that of HHHs on RAW.
Ida, do you REALLY think that Vince would let Booker T be champ? As much as we, the fans, would like to see it, when was the last time that Vince did something that the fans wanted? JBL has to lose soon, he's just killing the Smackdown! ratings.
