I've got a little piece of news that I'm going to reveal to the folks here on the Forum, but not on the main area of the site.
After checking around and negotiating for a few months, I've agreed to terms with a publisher and will be releasing a book in a few months about the independent world of wrestling, and my stories and experiences.
I also mention this site in the book, and I'd thought about having a wrestler write a Foreword for the book, or someone else I've met through wrestling. But instead, I've come up with the idea of having you guys submit comments, that I'll turn into a Foreword. This site's been around (in many forms) as long as I've been involved in wrestling in any capacity, so I thought it's only fitting that the book's Foreword come from you guys.
I plan to turn the final version of the book in by Friday, so if you'd like to submit comments for a Foreword, I ask that you do that as soon as possible. You can submit them to me simply by replying to this, or you can e-mail them to me at jimmyvan@knowyournews.com. I'd prefer that you include your real name, but it's your choice.
Of all the people I've known that have any interest in the professional wrestling scene, I have not known one person as enthusiastic and knowledgable as Jimmy Van. Before visiting this site, my only interest lay within the WWE (then WWF), but his insight into the business opened up new doors for me when it comes to the independant wrestling scene.

Just thought I'd pass this to you, if it isn't too late.
Of all the sites on the internet knowyournews.com ran by Jimmy Van is the best. Being a fellow Canadian, it was nice to have a site run by a Canadian, but also by someone who has copious knowledge of the industry. I had the pleasure of working for Jimmy Van on two occasions during his Independent Promotions in Ontario. His creativity was well reflected in the storylines he created and his business savvy was shown in how a promotion is run. Hats off to a well versed student of the game and a creative writing genius.
Thanks to everyone who's chosen to contribute to the Foreword! I was intending to use maybe four or five submissions, and so far I've received in the neighborhood of 15.
I'll be turning in the manuscript after the weekend, so if anyone else would like to contribute to the Foreword, you can post comments here, or e-mail them to me at jimmyvan@knowyournews.com.
I just wanted to thank everybody who contributed comments for the Foreword! I ended up with around 20 submissions, and had a difficult time choosing less than half of those for the book. For those whose submissions aren't used, I appreciate your input just the same, but it came down to a space issue (I wanted to reserve only two pages for the entire Foreword).
The contracts have been signed and the final manuscript has been submitted, so I'll keep you guys (only you loyal Open Forum'ers of course) posted on when the book will be released. I've submitted 40 pictures for the book, and hopefully most, if not all of them will be used.
