Y2J, I totally agree with u on Sid. He did not deserve to be champion. I used to be one of Sids biggest fans when he was Sid Justice, I thought that was a great gimmick. I remember in 92 at the Rumble, when he and Hogan fought, everyone cheered for justice, EVERYONE. But when he turned heel, except for one promo (at the WM8 conference), all of them were brutal. But about DDP, I think u overshot a little. DDP had plenty of charisma and he was a great wrestler. There are so many wrestler u could have picked over him, like Luger, Rich, Russo, Arquette. But then again what do I know lol. And the only reason he never made it big in WWE, is because...well let me put it this way ASK RAVEN! lol
Well, Kevin Nash was easily the worst champion. Buyrates went to alltime lows, and how can you get behind a guy who is 7 foot tall as an underdog??
But (and here is where my opinion comes in and everyone hates me) the Undertaker sucked too. He won it from Hogan and then lost it back instantly. Then beat Sid for the belt at WM 13 and no one cared. Then he won it again from Hogan and AGAIN no one cared. Then again, I really hate the Undertaker...so that's just me
Oh yeah, and how could I forget Stan "The Man" Stasiak. My God, his matches are some of the WORST in the history of wrestling. If you have never heard of him or seen him wrestle....picture Scott Steiner. Now take away the small amount of wrestling ability he has and give him a double axehandle as a finisher....
Thank God for Bruno Sammartino (also from Pittsburgh!! )
I hate when people refer to Hogan as the worst champ, citing his lack of inring ability. Champ is about more then just wrestling ability, it is the whole package. They should be a representation of the company and most of all get buyrates and create interest. While he may not have been the most technical wrestler, even those of us who were not hulkamaniacs have to give props for what he did for WWF and for that matter the whole damn industry.
Well I don't think you can even put Hogan into this category at all. He drew more money and more exposure than any champion in history (Austin is close). So his in-ring work wasn't up to today's standards. Back then, that's what they wanted to see...they wanted to see him getting beat up and then making a superhuman comeback. And he was raking in almost $20,000 a night doing it too. Hogan has his place in wrestling as one of the greatest of all time and no one can say different.
I would say that jbl is the worst person to hold the title although he has size his character is not realy campionship materal or if ur on about wcw then david arquette what were they thinking
