WWE to fill the NHL void?

credit: http://www.knowyournews.com/report091504-6.html

As a fan of both wrestling and hockey, I can see why WWE would try to attract hockey fans who now have nothing to watch. I don't, however, feel that WWE can successfully fill the void left from the NHL lockout. I mean, wrestling is good and all, but there's nothing like seeing the Maple Leafs get beaten, not to mention a few good REAL fights.

The season wasn't even suppose to start yet, but I'm already freaking out from the withdraw. Not even Vince, and that sick little mind of his, can keep me from wanting some damn hockey. If he wants to help, I say bring back The Goon.

So WWE is running advertisements stating: 'We put our fans first.'

What? After, profits, egos and our family?

I mean come on. Vince made himself the main bad guy in the Gamecube's Wrestlemania X9. Do you think the fans wanted that?!?

Ok. Cause I was gonna say, isn't fieldmouse from England? And as such, doesn't follow NHL hockey? So I rushed in here as fast as I could. Oh well, back to nhl.com for me.

Arg...Im gonna miss The Maple Leafs kick major ASS. They wouldve won the cup this year..oh well!!! and I dont think they can fill the void, when they only have 2 major shows a week, while hockey was an every night thing. But maybe if they start hiring a few hockey players, then who knows lol...Tie Domi would rule. I could see him do the Running Power Bomb on a few guys lol.

And they say it's the foreign man I should fear!
But, it's my own kind doin all the killin' here!!!

Firstly, I am from England, the whole Omaha thing is a joke I had with someone from work, and now when I go out and want to make some friends laugh, I put on my Sting voice, and tell people I'm from Omaha.

And secondly, although I mostly fail due to them being shown late night when I need to be up early the following morning, I try my hardest to follow American sports, since the majority of the English ones suck. And no. Not a chance in hell will they fill the void. Even if it is the same core demographic, until WWE moves back into the mainstream as it did in the Austin 3:16 days, it will still be considered 'uncool' by people who don't understand why we watch. And so the programming comes with this stigmata attached to it, that could very well put many 'serious' sports fans off it.
