Randy Orton - Would-be youngest champ?

This Sunday, live on pay-per-view, Randy Orton attempts to become the youngest World Champion in WWE history. In order to accomplish this, he must defeat current World Heavyweight Champion Chris Benoit. At only 24 years of age, Orton would beat out past youngsters Brock Lesnar (25), Yokozuna (26) and The Rock (26). Watch SummerSlam this Sunday to see if Orton reaches his goal.

This isn't exactly right. Brock, Yoko, & Rock were WWE Champions, not World Champions. The WWE Championship is the real title that was held by many legends over the years. As we all know, the World Title is just the old WCW Heavyweight Title, and basically Triple H's sookie blanket for what seemed like forever. Misleading information straight from WWE.

But as pointed out earlier.. the main events are anyones game.

Taker doesnt need the belt.. but he would be as good a champion as anybody

Orton may be too soon for a title run.. but on the other hand, its either now or never

If you want to get bogged down in technicalities, both the WWE and World Heavyweight Championship titles are "World" Championships. And Randy Orton is the youngest to hold either belt. So, technically, WWE's statement is correct.

by the way, I'm as old as Randy Orton. This ranks right up there with seeing the first Playboy playmate who was younger than me. very weird feeling

Good point, D. I just really hate that World Title on RAW. I have problems holding it in the same regard as the WWE Title.

Yes, it's not unlike when I look at the Chicago Blackhawks roster and see that most of those guys are younger than me also. I guess it's too late for that "run away and join a hockey team" dream to come true

Back on topic, when I look at Orton I find it hard to believe that I'm older than him (if only by a year). I keep thinking that he's older, cause he seems older. I dunno...

I would love it if they brought in Cowboy Bob Orton next week or sometime to be at his son's side. I think that would be pretty cool. he is only 54 so he is not too old to maybe take a bump or 2.
