Tag Team Wrestling

I don't know about any of u, but i used to love tag team wrestling. From the LOD, Hart Found, Steiners, Demolition, E & C, etc. But today the Tag Team division is very poor. This is what I would do, to build the division back up. I would definetly get AMW (without a doubt, the best tag team today). La Resistance is great. The Dudleys are still great. I would give The Bashams a new gimmick, or at least new gear lol. Kidman and London are great, but they need the same gear, so they can look like a team. Also there are alot of wrestlers that are doing nothing at the moment. i say, team 'em up together. Orlando Jordan could team up with Jindrak (a Narcissist kinda team). Venis could team with Palumbo, seen as both of them are doing absolutely nothing. Also the could push The Hurricane and Rosey, now that the fat man doesnt look like a dork anymore. (They would need a name tho). What do u guys think? Are tag teams gone, 'cause they are not as marketable as single wrestlers? Who would make a good tag team?

It's all about TV time. If there is one thing Russo did right, it was making storylines for all the midcarders too, not just the main eventers. When was the last tag team storyline you can think of?

You can throw all the teams together that you want, if you don't push them and put them on TV...no one will care. Why should we boo the Bashams? Oh no they cheated...so does 90% of the roster. Because they have an ugly woman as a manager? Nope, still don't care. Wait...they won the Tag Titles? Who cares.

Bottom line: you need storylines for midcarders...only then will people care

I agree with you DLman91. they need to have storylines otherwise noone will care. I think they should reunite Palumbo and Gunn, but not as a gay team. This time they should be serious. How about bringing back Demolition? :? Not Ax and Smash of course, but rather 2 new guys.

And they say it's the foreign man I should fear!
But, it's my own kind doin all the killin' here!!!

I think narc's overall premise is good, even though yes. Like DL said, you can put as many people together as you want but they will still need direction.

I think they should do more to enhance the tag division though.

Am I the only one who heard the live crowd cheer for Rosey and his "graduated" character last week?

Now is as good a time as any to push Rosey and The Hurricane. I'm serious! I truly believe they could be a fun team to watch for a while. But knowing WWE they will both be on HEAT this week.

They could be pushed as a team but you still need more than 2 teams to hold together a tag division.

Well, in the long run I don't truly believe that a tag division can survive in the brand extension era. They just don't have enough bodies and anyone with a shed of ability has to be a singles wrestler. Look at Haas and Benjamin, they had to get split up just so they could have two more decent singles wrestlers. Jindrak and Cade probably shouldn't have been split up but who cares about them right now anyway, WWE has done shit with both of 'em.

In the brand extention era the tag divisions and the cruiserweight division suffer. I mean why the hell is Tajiri not on Smackdown! competing with the other cruisers. They just don't have enough talent per show, especially Smackdown!.

Yet another reason to end the extension.

I feel like WWE doesnt give a shit about anything else but heavyweight and hot looking girls. Thats why the cruiserweight division is treated like a joke and they even had a girl winning it not too long ago. And why break up the greatest tag team they had, if they cared about the division? like Narc said, maybe Tajiri and La Resistance are not as marketable as Torrie and HHH.

And they say it's the foreign man I should fear!

I would like to thank KYN.com for making my topic a featured thread this week. I worked hard for this moment and it does not go unappreciated. TY

ha..ok then. Anyways, I think the problem with the tag division, besides the fact that there's not enough real teams or storylines, is that the brand extension is hurting it further. As stated earlier, WWE had very few tag teams as it was, but to go and split them up into 2 different brands was murder. The nail in the coffin was when they brough in Smackdown tag titles. Too many belts is making the tag divisions look like a joke, and worthless. This all goes back to the "kill the brand extension" idea.
