NWA or WCW way back in the day.

I got this idea from another thread talking about the old NWA.

I never had access to WCW or NWA back when I was kid. Did any of you guys and if so did you watch it?

I used to know who Flair, Sting and the LoD were but thats about it. I really wish I got to see this as a kid.

Also, can you buy old DVD's of some old classic WCW matches. I would like to see Flair in his prime.

DD's Favorite of All Times

I finally played live and it was fantastic.

I think it is up to Vinny Mac when we get to see a lot of the old footage on DVD...
WCW did release videos of GAB, Starcade etc... although I'm not sure how far back they would go...I would think your best bet would to try used video stores..
Also trying to get copies from people that come to this site is likely a good option...I myself have been pleasantly surprised to find some old NWA Clash of Champions on blank tapes when going through them..good luck!!

LOL Simon, even though according to you I dont even know when Taker's or HHH's last title regn was. I was brought up on a diet of NWA, AWA and GWA long before i discovered the WWF.

The NWA was fantastic when I was watching. Sting had just debuted, Tony Shiovane was still a good commentator and Dusty Rhodes still had good ideas for matches ( of course thats a 100% hindsight comment, because I was still thought it was real then).

Its quite hard to get hold of old NWA PPVs. Early War Games are recommended highly as are the Flair/Steamboat matches. But looking back.. NWA was a badly produced programme that looked extremely cheap and low budget compared to what the WWF was throwing out at the time.

Simon, your best bet is contacting some old tape traders (i'll direct you to a few if need be), or seeing what you can download from the internet.

I'm about to go off topic, so you know this'll be good....

I think I know the answer anyways, but I would like to know the "official" reason as to why you, Shango, still call it 'WWF' instead of the correct 'WWE'? It's been over 2 years now; don't you think it's time to accept the sad fact that WWF is some panda bear crap?

Dagnammit, in my day it was the WWF, in my ol' pa's day it was the WWF, and I'll be 6 feet in the ground before ya hear old man Shango say WWE.

Why, we didn't even have television back then. If ya wanted to see wrestling ya'd try and steal a bears cubs, which we used to call Cub Curdlin'. We had to say curdlin' instead of stealing, cos that evil kaisser had stolen our word 'steal'. Why I just chased him all over Europe for nine high to get it back, but it was no good........

I refuse to call it the WW*, I hated the name ever since it was first announced. Its always been the WWF to me.. thats what it was called when I grew up watching it.. and thats what I call it now.

Denial? Ignorance? Who cares.. Its the WWF.
