Isnt he widely considered the leader of the locker room?
I think Vince has a huge amount of respect for Taker and realizes that while he still has something in his tank and his career winding down within the next couple of years that he should be doing well.
Also Shango, I reckon you can't even recall the last time he was the WWE Champion. HHH on the other hand...............
Please with this crap. Taker is main event and is basically keeping Smackdown on TV at this point.
Also, name one main eventer that puts people over. I will give you guys the Rock, but I feel that it was mainly because he knew his time in the WWE was almost up. |
Simon, please dont try to tell me what I know and what I dont know just because I disagree with you.
Lets look at people in the main event, those people who dont put anybody over. For the first time in my life im going to defend HHH and say he put over Shelton Benjamin.. TWICE.. granted it went nowhere.. but he did it.
Kurt Angle has established guys like Eddie and Benoit.. Sure he beat Benoit, but he made him look credible in the process.. unlike Taker who hardly sells a damn thing for more than a few seconds.
Steve Austin is also just as selfish and takes his ball and goes home when he has to job.
You covered The Rock. And there is a perfect example of an untouchable guy. Rock can job to anybody, and still get the same great pops.. the same as Taker could.
Eddie jobbed to Bradshaw.. and also helped to establish him as a somewhat credible heel. Taker doesnt estalish anybody. He no-sells their offense then pins them with his designated finisher.
Vince, nor Taker has anything to achieve by keeping a man unbeatable, especially when this man will be hanging up his boots in a couple of years.
And yeah, I suppose Taker is keeping SD afloat.. but Like I said, he probably has the greatest gimmick in WWF History, and he is now retreading that gimmick.
