Well, after this weekend WWE will begin to make a push towards Summerslam. In 2002, Summerslam was a great show, but in 2003 WWE didn't duplicate the performance. Of course they had a chance to make it a great show and to get Goldberg over as the top man on RAW, but Triple H, even with a torn groin, won the match, thus killing Goldberg's momentum.
After seeing Edge confront Triple H on RAW, and him scheduled to face Orton this Sunday, it got me thinking about WWE's plans for Summerslam. Obviously, we have Michaels-Kane as one RAW match. Undertaker-JBL is likely the Smackdown main event for the WWE Title. What will be RAW's main event? I have a feeling it will be another Elimination Chamber match. For the six competitors you'll have Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Edge, Orton, Triple H and Eugene. Eugene will cost Benoit the title, and Triple H will walk out with the strap.
I hope they don't go this way, but I wouldn't be surprised if we see this happen, especially since they rushed the Triple H-Benoit one-on-one match. I doubt if we'd see a rematch a month later.

Well I'm hoping they have a decent card for the show. I shelled out quite a bit to get my seat. It would be sweet if they had the Elimination Chamber again, maybe keep it as a tradition.
The Elimination Chamber as a yearly ppv tradition would be great. Every event being the same kinda sux. The Royal Rumble is my fave event just for that reason. If I were Vince this is what I would do:
-The Survivor Series back to the old survivor teams concept.
-The King of the Ring back in June (for SD.
-Battle Bow/ Lethal Lottery on a December ppv.
-And maybe War Games at the Halloween Havok ppv.
Sorry if I went off topic a little :? As far as having Eugene in an elimination chamber, I dont think he would fit well in such a match.

To an extent, this is kinda happening. SS last year did have Survivor matches - 2 if I remember right. I think 3 is enough for a modern SS card, any more is overkill. The resurrection of the GAB and Halloween Havoc (Which is planned for this year) show the WWE is trying to use wrestling heritage to establish traditions and a unique flavour for PPV's.. yet you're right, specialist matches/events at PPV's would make them worth buying. However, these should be saved for..
*Rumble - Obviously
*Survivor Series - The Survivor Matches
*Summerslam - the Elim Chamber would be cool.
*Battle Bowl, War Games or Lethal Lottery would be cool, but not all of them. Specialist overkill is as bad as none at all, if not worse. We need a fair few 'normal' PPV's to make these all the more special.

Simon,
I agree that Summerslam '03 was a decent show, I just think the ending really put a sour taste in everyone's mouth. Most people knew Triple H was hurt, and there was no way he was capable of competing for more than a couple of minutes in the ring. You have Goldberg who had been getting good crowd response leading up to the event, come in and dominate everyone. It looked like WWE finally was going to do something right with Goldberg and book him the way the people wanted him booked, like an unstopable monster who squashes everyone. Then, Triple H limps out of his chamber and beats Goldberg? That was bad, and really killed Goldberg's momentum. Sure he won the title a month later, but Triple H was still hurt and everyone knew Goldberg was going to win as soon as they added the retirement stip to the match.
I don't have a problem with the Elimination Chamber match itself, I just didn't like the booking of last year's event, and hope that if they go that route this year, that the booking is better.

The first Elimination Chamber match, where HBK won the title, was really good. then again, i may be biased because i saw it live. i dont know how it came across on tv

You are 100% percent correct. I thought that was one of the worst booked matches ever, but the overall concept of the EChamber is what I was speaking highly of.
I do hope they make it the main event for SS2004.
