Has anyone ever thought of this idea...

Right now, Eugene is one of the "over" guys on Raw. We all know that his gimmick will not last forever. It will just get stale after a while.

The best possible situation to turn him heel:

He comes out, telling everyone he was never retarded, starts making fun of the fans, making fun of retarded people, says that he used the fans to launch his career but doesn't need them anymore, etc.

Anything think this is a good idea/will eventually happen?

Now, I know this won't happen in the near future, as they are going to try and milk Eugene, making him more popular...but I feel this will undoubtedly happen eventually.

Blah, noway. Why would you change something so good that is working so well and take it all away. All heels make fun of people and it is not original. Eugene and how he wrestles is original and a great thing. I don't get why you would want to see that change.

How long will the gimmick stay populor?

And also he is a great wrestler but the gimmick will be forever holding him back he will never be classed as a serious wrestler

Oh come on, not all fans are morons and they have eyes. They can clearly see he is very talented. The gimmick can last as long as he does the great job he is doing. It is like saying make HHH face because he has been a heel for so long. He works better as a heel so why change it.

Face Eugene makes people laugh and is entertaining. Heel Eugene would be just another good wrestler without a gimmick other then being your typical heel.

I haven't been watching Raw for most of the year, but I read JV's reviews, or Guttmans on PWTorch.com, so I kinda know what's going on with the whole gimmick.

I think that would actually be pretty good, but he should really be pushed hard before hand. They should do something similiar to the Rock turning heel and joining McMahons corporation - have Eugene in a tournmanet for the title, with the final being against some huge babyface (hbk or benoit). Have him turn heel and allign himself with Bischoff in the final. Then cut a killer promo, if possible, and he'd be one hell over heel.

That would only work if he can really shine as a babyface first though, so that people actually care.

I actually think that is the way they will go eventually. Or they will have him get hit real hard on the head or something to make him normal somewhere down the line.


I agree that this gimmick cant go on forever, plus its not really fair for Nick Dinsmore to have to play a mentally challenged dude his whole careeer.

The gimmick will only be able to last so long. It may be going well now, but eventually the novelty will wear off, just as it did with Zach Gowen.

When the gimmck does run its course, i think Crock's idea is a good one

The reason I think they should wait a long time to do this is because look at how much people wanted Kane to lose the mask. After it was gone, what happened? Everyone wanted him to put it back on and WWE made a mess of it.
Ya, it is one thing to say for Eugene to turn heel and then say he was never retarded, but I think that would be a shame to do and not go over well at all. I just have this strong feeling he would be better as a face. I could be wrong and he could be great as a heel but knowing WWE, they will mess it up.

I don't think they should be in a hurry to lose his gimmick at all. Keep it going as long as you can and have something happen that somehow makes him not a tard.

Maybe my idea I had for Brock could come into play. Have him lose his memory and somehow trigger the non active part of his brain making him normal but not remembering who he use to be. They could do a lot with that, from anything to people making fun of who he use to be and him getting mad at it causing feud, to him just being the polar opposite and being a big time heel. This way, if the gimmick doesn't work or get over, he could suffer another blow that would cause him to go back to how he was and regaining his memory and tard-like ways.

Kane losing the mask was a case of his entire character going waaayyy stale (they had him do a damn spinaroonie when he made his big return that had been hyped for weeks on his return to Raw!) and theyd buried him beyond all comprehension of what he debuted as. The mask-less Kane is FAR more like the Kane of old, the non-caring, methodical son-of-a-bitch that is seriously power-laden and has a really serious psychological problem. I thought they did a half decent job of explaining away the lack of scars on his face and the reason for his madness. I dont think anyone but a snotty schoolkid wanted the mask gone when he first entered WWE, it was part of his mystique and it was only when the gimmick went stale that they wanted it off.

As for Eugene turning heel, I think it could be awesome! It could be some of the most innovative booking ever if it transpires that Eugene was part of an elaborate plot to screw over William Regal and the rest of the faces on WWE who 'felt sorry' and befriended Eugene when he uses them to gain the fans attention and make them look like crap. Just because Dinsmore has some real talent doesnt mean he's always gonna be over. Gimmicks go stale as they arent 'new' enough to retain fans interest. Look at RVD, Booker T, Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Jericho and Christian; theyre legit talents and are very good in the ring (when they wanna be), but it doesnt mean theyll be over based on talent alone. Their ability to get over is based on fan opinion and innovative ways of using the wrestlers. If a guy is stale hes boring, and Dinsmore's gimmick will run its course. This isnt the late 80s early 90s anymore and people like Hacksaw Jim Duggan cant use the same gimmick for much of their careers because the TV exposure and the sheer pace of storyline development is much greater now. I think turning Eugene heel could turn him into a main-event player, in the same mould as Makind in his crazier days. Suckering everyone into believing that hes a likeable rogue and turning him into an asshole is a classic example of exactly how to make a heel hated, fans have gotta relate to him and theyre definitely doing that right now.

I know eventually he will have to do something different and there are many ways that can happen. I just don't get why it is being discussed right now as if he has been doing it forever and it is stale. It is fresh,new, and entertaining. I think it is way to early even to be thinking about a heel turn or gimmick change.

No one is talking about Cena losing his gimmick, HHH turning face or Rene not being French anymore. So why be so eager to see Dinsmore's character change. I still think they need to do it in such a way that if it doesn't work, they can fall back on him being retarded again. They can put the mask back on Kane easy,made Taker Dead Man Walking again with ease. They need to be able to do the same with Dinsmore if they have to.
