| Eric Bischoff This man has been the RAW GM for nearly two years. In an industry where authority figures come and go, that's almost unheard of. He's outlasted everyone, Steph as Smackdown GM, Stone Cold as RAW Co-GM, Heyman as Smackdown GM, Mick Foley as RAW Co-GM, Stone Cold as RAW Sheriff and he'll more than likely outlast Angle as Smackdown GM. For a character who is a WCW creation, this is unheard of, and I think he is really coming into his own as a GM now that there are no more assistants or co-GMs to get in his way. He is playing an authority figure who is pretty unbiased these days (with the exception of going against Eugene) instead of being downright heel when he first came in. He's evolved quite a bit in his time. An example was the RAW lottery where he was playing the unbiased face, and Edge got booed for spearing him. What are your thoughts on Eric Bischoff? Do you think he is doing a better job now? How long do you think he will last? | |||||||||||||||

| When Bischoff first came in as Raw GM, he was fantastic. He literally stole the show and was one of the only good things about it at that time. Nowadays, maybe he's overshadowed by all of the good things that are going on, but he doesn't seem to have the same spark that he once did. I think part of it is the fact that he was "feuding" with Stephanie to make the better show - which led to some entertaining behavior on his part. Unfortunately, Smackdown hasn't been able to sustain their "power" role like Raw, so Bischoff is without a foil. I wish they'd just reinstate and keep Heyman as Smackdown GM - because Paul Heyman's Smackdown is 100x better than Stephanie McMahon's or Kurt Angle's. Plus, the historical significance (in the industry) of two of the most powerful men in the business competing for supremacy all over again could make for an awesome game of one-upsmanship if booked right. | |||||||||||||||

| I think they should try switching Eric over to smackdown and heyman over to raw to see what happens. If things start going crappy they could switch them back because I think thats an even trade and it would spice things up. Eric getting a bit old and needs something new to make him more exciting again or he just going to end up like austin did  and just plain ![]() | |||||||||||||||

| Bischoff is king of Raw, it's that simple. The guy is brilliant. But I'll agree he's in a bit of a "rut" regarding his character. The Johnny Nitro thing had potential but disappeared, the Eugene thing has at least included him.. but you guys are right - to reach his full (and obvious) potential he needs to have a foil. Heyman is the man for this, he's great too. The historical thing, as pointed out, would heighten it, but we need something to trigger the brand "war", and Kurt Angle losing his position as GM. Perhaps having him come into harm's way and causing further 'treatment'. Then having Vince re-hire Heyman as he was proven to be good. Then, Bischoff could do an "Annual Review" of Raw. This could of course help put him over as face or heel, deciding on what WWE wanted to do. Have him perhaps evaluate superstars, and then at the end, make a sniping comment at how Raw still kicks SD's ass, just like WCW beat WWF for 86 weeks straight (Or however long it was.). Then Heyman could retaliate, and a war could ensue between the brands. I remember at the start of the split with the Chuckabilly wedding, and the attack of 3 Minute Warning and Bischoff revealing himself as the vicar. That rocked.. if they could re-create that somehow - perhaps have the Dudleys do a similar spot for Bischoff, and then have them both try to create the best shows they could. Bidding wars for superstars, consistent attempts to create better matches on TV and PPV... the possiblities are endless. | ||||||||||||||
