An annual crossover PPV - Wrestling Forums : WWE, TNA, ECW, E-Fed, Wrestlemania, Live Wrestling Streams

Here's an idea:

The WWE make an annual PPV named like, "Clash of Champions" or something where they had the following matches:

WWE Champion vs World Champion
IC Champion vs US Champion
WWE Tag vs World Tag
Woman's Champ vs "X"
Hardcore Champ vs "X"
Cruiserweight Champ vs "X"

"X" = Over the prior weeks, they can hold a tournament to see who will earn the right to represent their show against the other's champion.

I think it would be great to have a crossover event like this to bring the two shows together for a night. The show with the most wins could have bragging rights, or even a special title to show off until the next year.

What do you think? Ideas? Suggestions?

Only problem is that Raw has no cruiserwieghts, Smackdown has no women who can wrestle, and there is no longer a hardcore championship. The other title matches would work. As far as other matches they would just have to put together interesting matchups. They would also have to forget about brand specific PPVs for that month and let the wrestlers go freely between shows which flies in the face of everything the brand extension was about. But I think we all know its dead anyway.

Problems.

Whichever brand wins the World Champion vs WWE champion match would seem superior.

This would be magnified 10 fold if the same brand won the IC vs US title as well. The obvious compromise would be to the brands win one each. This would make the outcome of the main event quite obvious.

Granted Tori Wilson, Dawn Marie, and Miss Jackie are no match for Lita, Molly, Vicky, and all. But no cruiserweights? How about Hurricane, Matt Hardy, and Tajiri to name a few? I just think something like this could really spruce up the mix a bit. We all miss some of the classic matchups that can no longer happen due to the rosters split. Not to mention the newer talent who have never fought. Personally, I would love to see Cena vs. Orten. Not to mention another match between Benoit and Guererro (sp?).

Ya and those three have really been having great cruiser matches on RAW right? OOOPs I guess not. They should just put the brands back together because then you could also have all these matches. And Disco is right, making one brand look inferior once a year at a big show is a really bad idea. During the Invasion angle at Summerslam that year WWE won like all the matches except 2 it made WCW/ECW look like crap and no one took them seriously. Crossover PPV is a bad idea.

they could do it if they plan to bring the two brands together again with the winner of they match gets to keep the title like what they did with the invasion angle a couple of years ago.

I think yes if they ever decide to combine again this would be the best way to go about it.
