Bret Hart

The latest word on the Bret Hart to WWE situation is that many backstage are expecting a deal to be reached between Bret and WWE by the end of the year.

Sources claim that Bret Hart has requested two things before agreeing to a deal with WWE. Firstly, he wants rights to his footage for home videos. He also is now interested in returning in some sort of storyline where he saves face by getting some sort of one-up over HBK or Vince McMahon, before saying goodbye (properly) to his legion of WWE fans.

Originally, Bret was completely against a storyline return, but now it seems that he might be interested in doing something to finally conclude the fallout from the 1997 Montreal Screwjob. He would still likely make his farewell speech.

So what happened to Bret not tarnishing the lagacy of the hitman character by never showing up on WWF TV again? As much as i want to see him back on TV.. it will also be a total U-Turn on everyhing he has said in the last 7 years

It's all about the money. I can say I don't want to tarnish a legacy, but if someone waved a million dollars or so in front of my face, I'd tarnish it all they wanted.

As Bobby Heenan once said:

Who said money doesn't buy happiness, give me a 50 and watch me smile.

Time heals all wounds

Bret said the things he said in moments of anger, and then refused to go back on them based on pride.

A long time has passed since Montreal, and i see nothing hypocritical about bret burying the hatchet and making a return

I expect Randy Orton to get into the middle of this feud, you know Orton is going to go after Bret Hart considering Bret is a legendary wrestler too.

If they do an angle where orton trashes bret i will stop watching wrestling. So many people watchiong are going to feel real emotion at bret coming back i think bret is too intense to cheapen this moment with an angle.

what id like to have right now.........
