Cappotelli has been honing his skills at the WWE's Ohio Valley Wrestling training territory since he signed on the dotted line after Tough Enough wrapped in early 2003. He has also been getting ring time in front of full-size crowds, wrestling at non-televised house shows and in dark matches before the cameras roll on Raw and Smackdown each week.

It was during one of these off-TV practice runs, a house show in Oklahoma just days before his big TV debut, that Cappotelli suffered a concussion in a match with Bob Holly.

How ironic huh? The report goes on to say it was an "accident this time" but was serious enough to keep him out.

Let's see..... The Hurricane, Rey Mysterio, jamie Noble, Kidman, Malenko, Jericho, Hell even X-Pac, Jaqueline. What is wrong with this list? Oh, hey Jaqueline. She doesn't belong there. I'm not sexist. But there is a women's championship. I really don't think anyone would have cared if they would have moved her to RAW at some point. I know the Cruiser belt has been treated like a joke and I really can't say why, but at least some credible wrestlers have held the belt and now WWE feels the need to slap all of them in the face and make one of their belts look like a complete sideshow. I'm wondering when it'll start being defended 24/7? The need to end this quick like next week. One more thing, If they put the belt on Jackie were they really willing to put it on a brand new unproven wrestler in Matt C. until he got hurt? Was that the original plan? We all saw how well that worked with Gail Kim. I'm going to tell WWE this in hopes that a writer or two of theirs checks this board out every now and then. DO NOT PUT A TITLE ON A DEBUTING WRESTLER!!!!!!!!!! It does not work they need to be over first and be credible with the fans. Another thing for them. Give me one good reason to make a joke out of the Cruiserweight title. I just want a little bit of an explanation here.

Ya but Cristian came in during the Edge/Gangrel fued and was a part of that different situation.

It was still his first WWF match and he won and it still worked out for him. I am just saying that it can and does work form time to time if done right. Becides, Matt has wrestled a WWE match before and a lot of people know who he is from tough enough so it is not like he would be coming out of no where.

I still don't like putting belts on debuting wrestlers its not a good idea. Remember Christian took the light hevywieght off of Taka at a time when the belt and champion were lucky if they got on TV once a month. It was a completely different context. The Gail Kim win proved worthless for her and the belt. The Cruiser belt is very prominent on Smackdown and it would do alot of damage to try the same thing. It hurts Chavo big time especially when he really can't afford it. Either way between Jackie or Matt the belt and the champ just got knocked down a few huge pegs that couldn't be afforded. I feel for Chavo right now.
