| Kane's Stock: Buy or Sell Its been a while now since Kane has lost his mask and hair. Some people suggested that it was a disaster in the making taking his mask off. Others have wanted it for a long time, tired of watching his character being basically a jobber for the main eventers (ala Big Show). Both Big Show and Kane represent the same character in a sense. Respective GM's of each show "Oh yeah?! Screw with me ?! Then your having a match with Kaaaaaaane !!" (Wrestler looks at GM in disgust or horror depending on situation, then proceeds to beat Kane in the match) "Oh yeah?! Screw with me ?! Then your having a match with The Big Show !!" (Wrestler looks at GM in disgust or horror depending on situation, then proceeds to beat Show in the match) Although booked lately much better than he has been in his career, he still has only won the championship for a total of 1 day and really hasnt gone over anyone of importance in some time. The loss to the Undertaker at WMXX needs to be completely ignored in this thread. I don't think ANYONE thought he even had a chance in hell of going over in that match. So the question is........Has Kane's stock risen or fallen since his unmasking? | |

| Good topic. Kane sucks now even more than he did just before he lost his mask. He's just an ordinary jobber who happens to be big, just like WWE likes its wrestlers. His match against Edge at Backlash sucked, and his career is heading straight for the crapper. He needs to return to his early days, when he wore a full body suit and mask, came out in the middle of other people's matches and wiped out everyone who was in the ring at the time. In other words, he needs to be booked like the unstoppable monster again. He lost that somewhere along the way and became just another normal guy. Course, for that to happen we'd all have to ignore the past year's worth of storylines relating to Kane. I'd be willing to do that, though. | ||||||||||||||

| Kane is the kind of guy I can see WWE throwing the title on in desperation if they have no one else. I think he could surprise us all. However, for the most part this guy is going nowhere. There isn't much WWE can do to re-build him. We had this conversation in another thread, I believe...about guys being unstoppable. After you get to a certain point there's no longer anything you can do with the guy. After Goldberg is finished with his streak and is left in another gimmick there's nothing left for him. | ||||||||||||||

| They have been taking steps in the right direction the last 2 weeks. i know hes trying to kill Matt Hardy and molest Lita but it brings back a little bit of the disturbing and scary qualities to the character. | |||||||||||||||

| Kane should have been given another WWE title run years ago. I think he can go over, but somthing has to change. His new attire is terrible and the way he acts even with this new image is terrible. C'Mon book him to be an unstopable force but give him somthing to work with. personal deamons or somthing. | ||||||||||||||

| He did have personal demons, he had sex with a dead chick remember. Maybe they could play that up again except this time he fesses up to doing it. That would make him a totally disgusting and hated man. Even though it was one of the saddest moments in wrestling history and I'm ashamed to even talk about it again. | |||||||||||||||

| Kane when booked right looks like credible main event talent and can work as such. Circa early 2001 through to around Judgment Day, Kane was carrying the main event scene with Undertaker, HHH and SCSA after Rock had left to start shooting movies. He had solid matches with the likes of HHH (the Judgment Day IC Championship Chain Match was brilliant IMHO). The thing with Kane is that you can put him in the ring with HHH and he doesn't look out of place right now, as badly as he has been built. After the unmasking I loved what they were doing with Kane and to be honest it was near enough my only reason for watching Raw. It was over the top, it wasn't realistic, but hell it was entertaining. I think Kane has just been unlucky in that WWE never wants to put him over current main event talent. He sits in his niche as a main-event/upper midcarder because there simply isnt room for a roster full of main eventers and hes able to serve as a mechanism to get someone over. He deserves the title for perseverance alone! | ||||||||||||||

| Kane's stock is a definite sell at this point. His promo on Raw last week about not "showing compassion" any more really indicates that WWE has no clue what to do with him any more. He hadn't shown compassion of late, but they're using that as an excuse to having him being a 7'0" jobber to him showing compassion. So, what has he done since he's stopped being "compassionate?" He's chokeslammed Matt Hardy and kissed Lita. Wow. If that doesn't spell monster, I don't know what does. Kane showed a lot of promise in the few months following his unmasking, culminating with his burying of the Undertaker last November at the Survivor Series. Unfortunately, since then, he's only had one real program (with Taker) where he was preselected as the loser. The problem with Kane now is that he has nowhere to go up. Raw has a lot of up-and-coming stars who can't weather a loss to him just yet. They could try to put him in a long-term program with one of these rising stars, but his ringwork isn't good or fresh enough to help elevate anyone. Putting him in the World Title picture is a laughable idea. He just isn't of the calibre that WWE has come to expect of its champions with regard to ringwork or charisma. I think that his last (24 hour) WWE title reign says a lot, and a lot has changed since then. Sadly, I think Kane is screwed. His character has no reason to single out anybody unless someone picks a fight with him, so he's been relegated to Big Show duty (as many others have pointed out). There's no reason for another wrestler to try to mess with him as, both on-screen and behind-the-scenes, they don't stand to benefit from starting something with him. At this point, I don't see WWE ever pushing him to be anything more than he has ever been, but I'm betting the company's loyal to him since he's been there forever. Maybe they'll try to turn him into a Texas tycoon who hates Mexicans?? That seems to be the popular thing for "company guys" these days. | |||||||||||||||

| Ya send him over to Smackdown and have him be Brdshaw's hired thug. But wait a minute doesn't the guy who employs the thug usually have more career wins than his thug? I think they should repackage Kane as a disgruntled IRA member and let him wear Irish military uniforms and set off car bombs. I guess right now if he can do something horrible to Lita and Matt I thinkk he'll be fine. He is in prime position to challenge Benoit right now I think they should just do it. | |||||||||||||||
