I just went to wwe.com, and the front page says the following:
G.M. Angle
Former WWE Champion Kurt Angle has been chosen as the new SmackDown! General Manager, filling the void left by Paul Heyman. Angle was quick to make the roster his own, as he completed two deals with RAW's Eric Bischoff.
WWE.com has learned that the role of SmackDown! General Manager has been assumed by former WWE Champion Kurt Angle.
In replacing Paul Heyman, Kurt Angle’s first order of business was to mold the SmackDown! roster to his liking. In an attempt to do so, Angle has completed two trades with RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff.
The first trade sends F.B.I. member Chuck Palumbo and A-Train to RAW for the combination of the sexy Miss Jackie and Rico.
The second trade is a blockbuster three-for-one deal. RAW’s Eric Bischoff has agreed to send the Dudley Boyz and Booker T to SmackDown! in exchange for former World Heavyweight Champion Triple H. This announcement comes straight off the heels of Triple H being chosen by SmackDown! in the draft lottery just 24 hours prior.
Be sure to check back here as more information becomes available.
HHH on RAW now? Why bother even announce he was going to Smackdown? The non-Internet fans will be confused.
Bad bad booking.
Haitch had better just keep away from Benoit's title reign.
When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the country not enter the city. For this is the time of punishment in fullfillment of all that has been written. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people. They will fall by the sword and be taken as prisoners to all nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
...At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.
Luke 21:20-28
I don't understand the Rico/Ms. Jackie/A Train/Palumbo deal quite yet, but the HHH deal actually makes a lot of sense. It seems that the whole idea of this lottery was to get some bigger names to Smackdown, and this deal essentially got Smackdown 3 big names for 1 draft pick. Look at how things have worked out:
New Smackdown members
Rene Dupree
Mark Jindrak
Rob Van Dam
Theodore Long
Spike Dudley
Buh Buh Ray Dudley
D-von Dudley
Booker T
Rico
Miss Jackie
New RAW members
Shelton Benjamin
Nidia
Rhyno
Edge
Tajiri
A-Train
Chuck Palumbo
Wow... I say Triple H should have stayed on Smackdown. It would have made for MUCH more interesting storylines. No more of the HBK/HHH bull crap that's been going on pointlessly.
And I had such hopes for HHH to do something different on SD. Wonder what the 'Backlash' is going to be for all the Raw talent signing him off...nah nah nah nah...
GM Angle has a nice little ring to it. Hopefully it's just to give his injury a break and time to heal fully and he can return as a preformer. And with the trades SD seems to be more loaded because they lost Edge, HHH and Angle, Brock, Ron Simmons... They had some serious gaps to fill. Hopefully Dudley's will return to their older style and shake up the tag division.
One thing that they can do with HHH on Raw is a feud with Edge. Rumor had it that HHH was pushing for Edge to come to Raw...If the seemingly new, unselfish HHH does the right thing, it can help re-establish Edge as a top-name player
The plus side of the trades is that Smackdown was in dire need of quantity, not necessarily quality. While HHH would probably be the biggest name on SD, they now have Booker and RVD for the upper mid-card, plus a returning Undertaker, and they can even push Dupree. I would give Cena a long title run, and slowly push Dupree, then eventually have Cena drop the belt to Dupree.
Negative: Still a lack of top heels, however. Besides Big Show, theres nobody really for Cena, Booker, RVD, Eddie, etc to feud with, especially if Angle is mired in the G.M. storyline
ust to comment on the HHH/Edge theory, I can see it. Bitchoff got Trips back and no it's time to return the favor by taking out Edge for the spear. Hopefully that will just be the beginning of their fued and it will bring Edge right back into the spotlight again. He looked in great shape even through the leather so let's hope there isn't any significant ring rust. Edge/Orton will be another nice match up.
