My adventures (or lack there of) at a WWE House Show.

So a few weeks ago I get an email saying that the WWE will be in my arena soon and tickets go on sale Saturday.

So I look up the date and it is the night after Wrestlemania and that is the only show that I can find with the same date. So what would you think it was? Raw, right? Wrong. The following Saturday tickets go on sale for Raw in New Jersey. Great.

I felt a bit decieved by the WWE and the way they promoted the show. They made you assume you were seeing Raw.


So, you may want to know what a WWE Smackdown House show is like.

I got there at 8:15 and it started at 7:30. And boy, I don't think I missed much. When you enter the half empty arena (full capacity is around 12 thousand) it is kinda a wierd thing. The whole place is dark except two big lights that are strapped to a pole above two of the turnbuckles.

I had third row seats and took some low quality pictures. (it was so dark in the place, not even my flash helped matters) Here are the matches I saw. Try to contain your excitement.

Triple threat tag team match
*Rikishi/Scotty 2 Hotty vs. Basham Brothers vs. WGTT.
Winners: Rikishi/S2H

It was a slow paced match that really offered nothing. One funny thing was one some dude in the crowd kept yelling "What the hell is that?" EVERY time a Bashman would do any move. Finally one of the Bashams, turns around on the turnbuckle, points at the guy and says "Go flip some more hamburgers you fat fuck!" Funny stuff.

Nida vs. The Fabulous Torrie Wilson.
Special Guest Referee: Funaki (no idea why)
Winner: Torrie Wilson

I must point out at this time that Torrie Wilson is one beautiful girl. Giddy Up.

Cruiserweight Title Match Elimination Match
Chavo vs. Rey vs. Ultimo Dragon vs. Jamie Noble.

Chavo cheats with help from Chavo Sr. to beat Rey. Ray was pretty impressive live.

Main Event:
Eddie Guerruro vs. The Big Show

Pretty good match actually. Eddie came out in a pimped out truck. Big Show is enormous in person. He played with the crowd quite a bit and was my favorite of the night.

I brought my wife, brother and friend to the show. My buddy and brother had great seats but decided to sit alone in the upper loge seats and drink themselves silly. I almost felt bad charging them 40 bucks a piece. When my wife and I were walking up to them after the show, my buddy just looks at me and sticks his thumb down.

lol, so the moral of the story. Don't expect much of anything at a house show.
