Goldberg Not Leaving

What The Bloody Hell!!!!!

Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald reported the following today in an article about Lesnar leaving the WWE this Sunday.

"Ironically, speculation was Goldberg would wrestle his final WWE match at WrestleMania, but since becoming friends with Stone Cold Steve Austin and the apparent departure of Lesnar, look for Goldberg to remain with the company -- possibly joining the SmackDown roster."

I have not heard this anywhere else, but it would make sense for the WWE to possibly coax Goldberg back to the company with one of their major superstars leaving.

Here's what JV says about that:

But I think the biggest problem now is Wrestlemania, and specifically Lesnar's match with Bill Goldberg. It's been known for a number of weeks that Wrestlemania is the last date that Goldberg is contractually obligated to work for WWE. He's reportedly been offered a new contract, and while it's believed that the new deal is structured similar to The Rock's contract and would only require Goldberg to work limited television dates, he hasn't signed it and therefore WWE is operating as if Goldberg is done after Mania.

This just in at prowrestling.com

In Keller's in depth article today he talks in detail about Brock Lesnar's departure from the WWE. First off, it does not appear Goldberg will stay with the WWE because of Brock Lesnar's absence, because quite frankly, Goldberg is much the same as Lesnar. Goldberg does not have his heart in wrestling. He honored his contract for one year and it appears now that Goldberg will move onto other things, which of course does not include another contract with the WWE.

The wrestler's reactions to Lesnar's departure vary, but it seems as though several of them are upset with his departure. Here are a few of the quotes from fellow WWE staff members and wrestlers that Keller has obtained:

-"Good riddance. He had the world handed to him and doesn't know what he has. I don't buy that he's cracking under pressure. So many people have undergone the same schedule as he has for much longer. He was a spoiled brat. He's going to fail at football and then come crawling back."

-"He was taking money out of the pot that he had nothing to do with drawing."

-"If he had been red hot and selling out arena's, it might be a different story, but he wasn't."

-"Wrestling is a weird business. We claim there's a brotherhood, but there really isn't. Nobody really enjoys this business except for a few. I absolutely hate the business myself, the whole mindset that 24 hours a day you're playing poker. It's like Survivor, who can outwit, outplay, outsurvive 60 or 80 other guys. A lot of people can't take that. Brock was one of them who couldn't."

As far as WrestleMania XX goes and the match between Lesnar and Goldberg, it is unclear still what the outcome of this match will be or where it will be placed on the card. Lesnar was initially planned to go over on Goldberg, but with his departure, the outcome of the match may be changed. It appears likely that Steve Austin may come out of the match looking like the strongest competitor even though he is only scheduled to be the guest referee for the match.

Man I don't know what to think anymore.

around and around the circle we go will goldberg leave, nobody knows

I hope if anyone goes over in the match it's Goldberg, and I expect that will be the case. At least Goldberg has been open about what he wanted to do in WWE, and has given them exactly what they expected out of him. Lesnar has had so much handed to him, including the biggest push that I can ever remember seeing, and to bail out all of a sudden is pretty weak. I can think of several other wrestlers who could have been as big as Lesnar if given his kind of push, but would have stayed with the company. It's a horrible waste.

I'm happy Goldberg changed his mind.

After 'Mania, Goldberg will still leave for a little while to finish up "Santa Slay" movie but after he gets done filming, I'm sure he will return then.

Now that I think of it, Undertaker needs to feud with big name stars, so I think 'Taker will feud with Goldberg in the future.

Man, I used to be a Lesnar fan, but what a baby! Although we may not know the story, I still think that was pretty crappy of Lesnar. Like DMV pointed out, the guy had so much handed to him, and now he's just giving it away.

I wonder if any of the other supstars would consider purchaing a plane. Hey its only been used a few times!!

I really hope Goldy doesn't leave. Granted he's not the world's greatest wrestler, but damn it he's entertaining when he's used properly!
When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the country not enter the city. For this is the time of punishment in fullfillment of all that has been written. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people. They will fall by the sword and be taken as prisoners to all nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
...At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.

My question is if either leave, how in the heck are they gonna book that finish? Maybe have SCSA give a round of stunners? I dunno.

I think they should make it an "I Quit" match and have it end in a double DQ.
