Let's hug it out bitch.
| So I gots to tinking again. Either growing up or currently now.......Which group have given you more enjoyment throughout the years? The Heels or the Babyfaces. I feel that every wrestling fan relates to their favorite wrestler in some aspect. Do you find yourself rooting for Goldberg, SCSA, HBK, Hogan or The Rock throughout the years. Do you love it when ones of those guys finally wins the title again? Or do you feel better when Savage beats Hogan? SCSA gets Angle Slammed? Big Show chokeslams the hell out of HBK......even HHH pinning Goldy in the middle of the ring? I have been following the wrestling since I was 7 years old. Waaaaaaaaay back in 1981. Ever since I started watching wrestling I seemed to always have liked the Heels. Demolition, The Brain Busters, Old School Undertaker (best ever), and one of my personal favorite heels albeit old school......The Macho Man. HHH has to get credit also for taking the heel to the next level. Hell, I even dug the Rock when he was in The Corporation. The only people I personally ever marked out for as babyfaces is The Ultimate Warrior waaaaay back, Hogan back in WCW (dont ask why I just thought it was cool) and The Rockers (best tag team ever) I would like to hear what you guys think. So, are you a heel or a babyface? Judging by the PWA E-Fed, there are 90% heels....10% Faces. ::sleepy:: Also name your top two favorite faces and heels of all time. Simon's picks [b:post_uid0]Heels:[/b:post_uid0] The Undertaker, HHH, (Savage very close 3rd) *honorary mention to the Honkey Tonk Man, I really wanted to kill that dude every time I saw him on TV [b:post_uid0]Faces:[/b:post_uid0] Austin, HBK Old School, although I still like him now. I can't stand him as a heel. Also, the [b:post_uid0]only[/b:post_uid0] man that could be equally as good as a heel or a face. Ric Flair. | |

| I'm in the same boat as narc. I like the faces when I was a kid, Hogan, Hillbilly Jim, Andre The Giant and Wendi Richter. But as I grew older I just loved the heels, they crack me up! Top 2 faces of the past: Hogan and Wendi Richter. Top 2 heels of the past: Roddy Piper; Shiek & Volkoff. Top 2 faces now: RVD (the man can go) and Angle (I piss myself laughing when he cuts promos); Honourable mention - Los Guerreros (LOL, essa) and of course SCSA! Top heels (too many for me): DX (both incarnations HBK & NAO), John Cena, Y2J (the most deserving of a title run), and Christian (my boy). ::skinartia:: | |||||||||||||||

| This is a tricky question. I like the [i:post_uid0]principles[/i:post_uid0] of a heel more. Do anything to win, to get one up on your opponent. They're cunning, deceptive, and use their mind as much as their physical abilities. But not everything works how it should in principle. People like Test and A-Train are heels plainly because they suck, and some people can't carry off the heel persona. Or their character isn't manipulated to how a heel character should act. On the other hand, I enjoy faces too. Being honourable, better skilled, popular.. yeah. But they have their downsides. Their characters often have NO depth, and sometimes they're made too comical. But it all depends on the wrestler themselves. I love heels such as Orton, Jericho, Christian, Bischoff, Cena, Victoria, Lesnar, Angle, Tajiri, and of course..the Nature Boy!! (... WOOOOO!!!) But then again, I love faces such as Eddie Guerrero (And as a heel too, if not moreso when the true 'Latino Heat'), Rey Mysterio, Stone Cold at times... in fact, I am finding it harder to name faces I like. S I think everyone has the potential to be appealing, but it does depend on the person. But from my experience, being a heel helps. If your character is done right.. ::thumbs:: | ||||||||||||||

| I'm with narc - I was all babyface when I was younger, but I prefer heels more now. It's pretty common booking this day and age that, in order to become a big babyface, you have to be a heel first. It's easier to get over as a heel than it is as a face nowadays relative to the 80's. People don't like squeaky-clean babyface characters any more. People like characters with an edge to them, and heels are better able to show that edge - and that's why I prefer them to faces. As far as picks for my all-time fave heels & faces: [b:post_uid0]Heels[/b:post_uid0]: "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, Ric Flair, Undertaker (original gimmick), Kurt Angle (first year in WWE), HHH (during the McMahon-Helmsley faction era) [b:post_uid0]Faces[/b:post_uid0]: Ultimate Warrior (when I was a kid, I marked out for him so bad - no clue why today), The Rockers, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Chris Jericho, DX (original) | |||||||||||||||

| I was always in favour of the heels. I was always sick of the good guy winning so it was a refreshing change whenever a heel won a main event match. Now i dont think about the heel and face thing. The line is so blurred and turns are so frequent its hard to buy into. I just enjoy wrestlers for their in ring performances now rather than their alignment. | ||||||||||||||

| I do think its pretty cheesy that most heels have to cheat to win. That is what made the McMahon-Helmsley Era so good for a while. HHH was beating the top faces legit. That is the first time I can ever remember that happening. Can anyone else think of a top heel that didnt have to cheat to win? | |

| Heels are certainly what makes the product interesting. Would you rather see a show full of heels or a show full of faces? In Indy wrestling it's not uncommon to see a lot of heel vs. heel matches. Frankly, I wish we saw that on WWE once in awhile. Heels shouldn't have to cheat to win. It is cheesy. | ||||||||||||||
