Ric Flair or Hulk Hogan?

I've always thought that Ric Flair was a much better version of Hulk Hogan.

He had everything that Hogan did, combined with fantastic ring talent.

Though Ric Flair has achieved legendary status, I think parts of his career have a bit of a shadow over it. It's a shame that Vince and Eric Bischoff never seemed to fully value the talents of Ric Flair. It's sad that Ric Flair was always made out to be Hogans bitch, time after time.

Flair really had a lot more to offer than Hogan, in fact he still does.

Flair is probably my top wrestler of all time.

He can wrestle a match with anyone, he has flash and charisma, he is capable of acting out a scene with someone, he can do a wicked promo..funny or serious, he is always quick to help someone get over by selling a move, or taking the pin.

Hogan. Ask a non-wrestling fan who Ric Flair is and they never heard of him. But everyone's heard of Hogan.

say Flair.

Most people would say Hogan most likely. But I know here in my parts of the woods there was no NWA or WCW back in the day to watch. I only knew of Flair and Sting really back then but never got to see them wrestle.

And unfortunetly for Flair he was already late 40 something when WCW went national. He had already won the title some 13-14 times by then. Meanwhile we saw Hogan on our TV screens since we were all little kids and he was only like 25 when I started watching him. (shows ya how long I have been watching) He was beating Savage, Andre etc etc throughout the years while Flair was just the "Hogan" of NWA that no one really saw.

I think Flair promo wise is ten times the performer that Hogan could ever try to be. He is the best babyface going and a very convincing heel.

High styling and profiling.

Plus add the fact that Flair has accepted the fact that he isnt main event material anymore and enjoys just putting the new guys over and just for still being able to contribute.

Where is Hogan these days? Off crying in his milk again.

I'd say, in terms of what he did for the business, Hogan wins hands down. He put wrestling on the map and there's no question about that.

However, in every other single category: ability, character, mic/promo skills, longevity, and pure entertainment value, nobody can hold a candle to Naitch. Even in his 50's, he is still one of the most entertaining wrestlers in the business today. I can't say enough good things about him, and could go on and on forever about how great he is, but I won't. Flair rules - period.

Everyone should own 8-10 NWA or at least early WCW tapes where Flair was at his best.

If you haven't seen the Flair Vs. Steamboat matches you are totally missing out.
