I've only watched WWE for the past few years, so all of mine are recent..

1: Eddie G (Can't argue, Narc)
2: Chris Benoit
3: Goldust (I love this guy in the ring)

That'll do, brain freeze. I just lumped Goldie on the end, he rocks.

Benoit did win the World Title in WCW right before he left the company... ::baa::

Id have to say both Chris Benoit and Ted DiBiase

Although technically they both have held the title. Chris Benoit beat The Rock for the title at Fully Loaded but then minutes later the decision was reversed by Foley.

And Ted DiBiase was given the title by Andre the Giant after he beat Hogan in dubious circumstances. Jack Tunney then stripped DiBiase of the title because of the situation.

So yeah. DiBiase and Benoit are the two biggest travesties in wrestling. They deserved the belt more than most. But worst still, when they did seems to get the title.. it was stripped away.

DiBiase is a big douche bag now and runs some christian wrestling fed. having faith is one thing but doing it in sports entertainment is cheesey. HBK stopped with his verbal preaching but still wears the T-Shirts etc and does that praying thing with his enterance. Stupid stupid stupid. I mean who cares what his religious beliefs are. Why should we care and why should he parade it all the time. Can you imagain Goldberg wrestling with a yamaka on his head?

Im normally the first to whine about religion and peoples beliefs. But Neither DiBiase, or Michaels for that matter have ever forced anything upon us. And its definately not an issue to judge deserved champions on.

It is when they say they denounce now what they use to do years ago because of there new found beliefs. I didn't say anyone rammed anything down anyones throat, I just think it is stupid and don't think it belongs in wrestling unless it is part of there character. It was my opinion and I will judge if I want. DiBiase turned his back on everyone who doesn't believe what he does and that is why he made his own fed. If your not a devout christian, I am willing to be you are not allowed to wrestle on his card. I am assuming here but I am willing to research it and find out.

I think HBK has achieved a great balance between his faith and wrestling. He's clearly a changed man, considering the lifestyle he was leading up until he left the WWE. Now he's back and still playing the HBK character to a T, but he incorporated the whole kneeling down thing in his intro seamlessly - find me a majority of regular fans who know exactly what he's doing on the ramp at his entrance and I'll give you a quarter.

DiBiase might be anti-WWE, but he doesn't go around broadcasting it to anyone who will listen. I agree with him though - the WWE that he worked for no longer exists and he has a legit beef with the company.

That being said, I could give a flying #### about their beliefs as long as they entertain, and I don't think it gets in the way of the show (HBK goes w/the flow, DiBiase doesn't get involved.)

steamboat was world champion in WCW/NWA, back when he was feuding with Flair in the late-80's

the two people that i most think should have been (or currently be) champion are Dibiase and RVD. DiBiase is my favorite heel ever, and RVD is way too popular to have never been champion (not even in ECW

ost_uid0]: He is without question one of the greatest heels in the history of pro wrestling. While he did get a lot of time as Hulk Hogan's nemesis in the late 80's, he never got the nod for a run as WWF champ (no, him buying the title from Andre doesn't count, either). The biggest thing about DiBiase, however, was that he didn't [i

ost_uid0]2) Nikita Koloff[/b
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
ost_uid0]: The NWA/WCW's monster from Russia definitely should have gotten a run as World Champion. The only problem was that he was a face for the majority of his prime, and that was also during the whole Cold War era. The fact that he was kept face during this time is pretty baffling as it is, but even more baffling is that he wasn't given a world title run after turning heel. He would've been a great nemesis for Hulk Hogan had he been in the WWF. Regardless, he was intense, strong, and a good worker.
[b

ost_uid0]3) Andre The Giant[/b
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
ost_uid0]: Why the WWF didn't put the belt on Andre during his younger years when he was a good worker is beyond me. Sure, he didn't need it, but they used him as a main eventer for years without ever giving him a legit run as champion. By the time he won the belt from Hogan (only to sell it to Ted DiBiase), he was so far past his prime that he brought no justice to himself or the belt.

ost_uid0]4) Kerry Von Erich[/b
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
ost_uid0]: In spite of his brief (less than 3 weeks) NWA World title stint in '84, he never got a shot to really shine as a World Champion. Had his motorcycle accident and personal problems not marred his career (and eventually his life), Kerry could've been a solid champion. He had a good look and good charisma, but things never fully panned out for him.

ost_uid0]5) "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig[/b
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
ost_uid0]: One of the WWF's great heel characters from the late 80's/early 90's. He was a fantastic worker, had some good heel heat, but was never given the big push as top WWF heel. Had he stayed a full-time wrestler in the WWF during the mid-90's, he would've fit in perfectly (no pun intended) with the whole Bret Hart/Shawn Michaels era of world champions.
[b
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
ost_uid0]6) "Ravishing" Rick Rude[/b
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
ost_uid0]: Rude, like Hennig, was one of the WWF's great late 80's/early 90's heels. His character might have been the only thing holding him back from a big push, as the WWF was more conservative about their top guys back then relative to today. Regardless, he could get a great match out of anybody and had heat throughout his career.
[b
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
ost_uid0]7) Ken Shamrock[/b
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
ost_uid0]: Had he stayed with the WWF, I think that he would have been given a run as champion. He had the level of celebrity that WWF/E likes from its champions, was a good worker, and was over. Maybe he'll return once he's done with his UFC career.
[b
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
ost_uid0]8) Davey Boy Smith[/b
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
ost_uid0]: At the height of his singles run, he was one of the WWF's top faces. The fact that he & Bret Hart headlined Summerslam in their I-C title match is a testament to that (sure, it was in the UK, but he was obviously over enough to get top billing in spite of the locale).
[b
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
ost_uid0]9) Chris Benoit[/b
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
ost_uid0]: Ignoring his week-long WCW title reign before jumping to the WWF, Benoit is one of the best wrestlers (technically speaking) to never have been given a run as champion. I think that if he worked on his character/mic skills more, he'd get a run without question. Even without that, he may still get the nod, but will be a transitional champion at best.
[b
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
ost_uid0]10) Owen Hart[/b
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
ost_uid0]: I think that Owen would have and could have been given a run as champion had Bret not left for WCW (and, of course, his tragic accident not happened). Bret & Owen were always alternating between love and hate in their WWF run, and I think that if Bret had stayed, Owen would have eventually gotten a push to the top.

The sad part of my list is that 6 of my 10 have passed away, and only 1 is still an active wrestler (unless Koloff still wrestles, but I haven't heard anything about him in years). I'm only 23, so this says a lot about the tragic, young deaths of some of the better guys from the last decade and a half.
