| January 27, 2003 4.1 - Kane Unmasked. (wow, its been that long already?) I GAURENTEE that is WRONG! How do I know? A number of reasons.... For starters, Stone Cold was GM when this happened. Remember how he was blamed for Kane because he told Kane he should find his inner monster? Well, Kane had his mask on at that point. Secondly, after the mask came off, he started his fued with Shane just a couple of weeks later. That was like July. I would say Kane lost his mask around June. I will find the exact date..... | ||||||||||||||

| http://www.liveaudiowrestling.com/wo....ID=7739 June 23rd, Kane was unmasked and Foley got a tribute. I remember that, what a good episode, too bad it only got a 3.9, but I guess that's not that bad..... Kane DID look ridiculous at first.... I still think they should have given him the belt and held off the unmasking until they had a clue what to do with him. I think they are just now figuring it out, or maybe I am just relieved that the stupid Shane fued is over. | ||||||||||||||

| I believe the episode I spoke of is when he was unmasked at the end of the show but ran off covering his face. From there the whole angle to take it off began. | |

| I don't think it's very accurate to try to compare the ratings to what was on the show that week and then decide the former is what determined the latter. A big part of the ratings roller coaster is influenced by what else is on TV. Notice how the ratings seemed to have increased a bit during the summer, when it wasn't running against new primetime shows or Monday Night Football? And then, in September, when those things become an issue again, you see Raw's ratings take a dip. I personally think WWE has a loyal fanbase that makes up about 3 - 3.5 points, and there's maybe one extra point of potential viewers for it and its competition to fight over. Mind you, if WWE really began to turn out programming of a higher quality than recently you might see the ratings go up, but I think it would have to be a long term thing, with no serious errors on the creative team's part. One or two really good shows scattered amongst eight or nine lousy ones isn't going to make a big difference ratings-wise. | ||||||||||||||
