We all remember when wrestling was the hot topic of the day. Even the really cool kids watched wrestling. The topic of the day was did you see Raw? Or Nitro? Now days it's just another show that im sure a lot of people forget about. If you are a fan, you don't tell most people that you are.
I see countless post saying that wrestling isnt as big as it once was and that wrestling goes in cycles. Some years it does alright, some years there is a boom like in 97 and in 98. But my question to you is, will it boom again? Like a big boom? Or do you think wrestling as we know it will always be what is is now and no more...
I think it does have a shot. But only if TNA gets bigger.
If it is just WWE with Raw, and Smackdown! and ECW, then I just don't see it happening.

I think the recent success of UFC tells the story of the future of the industry. I have a feeling that wrestling as we know it really won't spike up again anytime in the future (maybe the distant future), but more and more people are looking towards "Ultimate Fighting" as a way to get their wrasslin' type of fix.
People's tastes and interests are continually evolving and I think WWE is a thing of the past. We won't be hearing people talk about RAW, etc. every Tuesday morning like we did in the late 90's.
UFC is talented but unless they fix fights they can never really control their product thus meaning they will cycle much like boxing (that currently has no drawing power due to no heavyweight division). Wrestling will come back eventually, it's cycle's of greatness usually come from it's lowest troughs tho'. When people discover they actually enjoy it again after not watching for several years.
If WWE can get some proper competition then i believe we will see a peak once again.
The reason the attitude era was so successful was because of the competition, once there is some proper competition then we will certainly see a rise in ratings and fans.
