When I was around 10 or 11 years old 95% of my friend followed wrestling but as the years went on and we hit our teens most of my mates stopped watching and by the tikme I left school none of them watched (as far as I am aware), now I am 26 and only 2 people I know in the real world outside my family watch wrestling, and when we discuss it we hide in the corner so nobody can hear it, I now relise I will be a wrestling fan forever, because I think the time to stop watching would have been in my teens with my mates, so my questions are
Will you be a wrestling fan for life?
And do you know anybody else in real life who watches wrestling?

I don't know of many people who do follow wrestling, my supervisor at orange was a secret fan as she noticed my abyss shirt one day at work and we got talking about it.
I'm pretty sure there are closet fans i know but have never discussed it with them.

But my kids and my grand kids will have to sit in frount of the TV watching WWE 24/7...There will be no school, No social life, the only education will be wrestling and there teacher will be Vince McMahon. The only time they can go out side is to beat the crap outta each other in a Harcore match, there prize will be a title I bought off EBay.com for $200, and there motivation will be the love of there father.

I have watched on and off since 1983 really. But in all honesty I havent missed a single Monday Night Raw since somewhere in 98. Before that I was doing the WCW thang.
Now I literally watch anything wrestling related. I may watch TNA and just have it on in the background, like I do with Smackdown each Friday at work. I just can't help myself. I really feel like I watch wrestling for so many reasons. I watch it to see how they will handle a character. To see how the will capitalize on a storyline, and most recently and like in the past, how they will handle each other as competitors.
I also followed it for a while just because I liked reading JV's thoughts on the show. I love looking at wrestling from a different angle.
Yes, I realize that its scripted, fake and sometimes embarrasing to be a fan of, but it's all good to me.
And no. Not one person I associate with on a daily basis watches wrestling besides myself.

lol I only have one friend who still watches wrestling and he watches just as much if not more then I do. I think I'll probably always at least pay attention to what's going on.
Right now, I don't watch ECW or SD! but I do watch RAW almost every week and I've seen TNA quite a bit lately also.
I'm not embarassed to watch wrestling because shit, I have friends who watch shows like Flavor of Love or whatever, it's rediculous. And all these reality programs that we all know are also scripted. So it's not a big deal. I don't talk about wrestling as much as I used to though.
Same, I grew up watching it with my grandparents when I was a kid.
Then I grew out of it until like grade 5-6 and everyone loved it again, then the whole Corporation/Ministry and the DX's and nWo's, Austins/Rocks ruled, and there was life again.
Since then I've been off and on with it, my friends make so much fun that I actually turn on RAW on Monday nights, imagine if they knew I was up to this!!
But the bottom line is, I have so many other/better things to do, but I will (for some strange reason) always be a fan of wrestling.
That may have been the gayest thing I've ever come to realize about myself...o well.

Strangely I didn't get into it until I was older.
I can remember the old Saturday afternoon shows (and can remember being impressed by Dynamite Kid, Fit Finlay and Marc Rocco...who were all awesome performers even back in the early 80's).
But I didn't really watch wrestling and pay attention till '92, when WCW used to do an hour's show on Saturday lunchtimes over here. Rick Rude and the Dangerous Alliance (inc Heyman) were taking it to Sting. Big Van Vader was squashing fools, Flyin' Brian was, erm, flyin'. It wasn't too bad a show. Then I saw Summerslam in '92 at Wembley Stadium which was huuuuuuuuuge.
About a year later though I was uninterested again. I hadn't bothered getting Sky as yet so couldn't watch the programming and was out way too much anyhow!!
Then, I got Sky when I got married and decided to "stay in" and became gripped by the WCW shows on TNT and the WWE shows on Sky. More so the WCW stuff at the time to be honest since this was around '96.
I got into it big time at this stage, like millions of others. The shows were compelling watching (for us it was a Friday night as opposed to Monday night war as the shows went on a Friday....still opposite each other though).
Around that time I got into the internet a little and the two things married off. I started learning a little more about how things were done, who the guys really were etc which all led to a sad little addiction between about '97 and 2001 which culminated in flying over for Mania in Houston.
Whilst I carried on watching for a few years after that, it became evident to me that it was more of a sickness really. The programming was horrible and getting worse, yet I needed to take drastic action to ween myself away. It's kind of addictive and habbit forming and I was more and more watching something that made me frustrated rather than excited.
To the point where in summer 2005 I moved house and didn't bother connecting Sky again, so once more I don't have access to watching WWE (or TNA).
If I could, I wouldn't mind watching TNA since I find the bits I've seen here and there of their show a more watchable product.
I did catch Mania this year and see odd bits from time to time at my brothers, but I rather buy the DVD's of career retrospectives and such now than the current stuff.
